I take a yoga class once a week and am often inspired by the chimps here at CSNW. Their lives are nowhere near the freedom of Africa, but they have mastered the art of being able to truly relax in their sanctuary. Negra, Annie, and Jody have all been spotted doing “yoga poses” while relaxing (see this post of Jody doing some of my personal favorite poses), but true relaxation involves much more than a stretch or a twist. Today, I went out to the outdoor area and spotted Negra kicking back on the deck. Her ability to let go with her expression is priceless! That is true relaxation.

Jamie’s Quality Control
Today J.B. worked on some welding on the new raceway that leads to Young’s Hill. Recently Jackie wrote about how it seems that the chimps definitely know what’s been going on the last few months, and mentions that J.B. watched Jamie try to get his attention and pull on the door a little, too. You’ll see some of that in this video. We are lucky to have such great quality control around here–Jamie is always making sure we did a good enough job!

Photos from Foxie’s birthday party!
It’s Foxie’s 35th birthday today! And we decided to celebrate by creating a huge troll bonanza for the troll-loving lady. We literally put out at least a hundred new trolls, most of which participated in last week’s Troll Olympics.
Here’s a few pictures from the day, tomorrow I’ll post some video from the party!

Foxie picked out a couple of her favorites:
Troll blanket, found and troll-adorned by volunteer Jeani:

We hung some frozen watermelon from the ceiling in the outdoor area, which the chimps really loved. Foxie eating her watermelon:

More to come tomorrow!
More lovable Foxie
We usually try to mix up which chimps we post about every day, but we also try to balance that with the day to day happenings, and today, since we are on the topic of what we love about Foxie, and we are celebrating her birthday tomorrow, I thought I would just keep going with the theme of “things to love about Foxie”. So, today’s “thing to love”- her love of watching herself in the mirror.
“Bigfoot”
Foxie gets pretty excited about new trolls, and seems to especially enjoy the colorful hair. You can imagine how she might really love a troll covered entirely in hair…
