More footage from the Trifecta Jubilee

Yesterday was such a lovely party for everyone. As Ellen said, there was so much footage, we had to split it into more than one video. Her video yesterday captured Negra at the celebration, and today’s captures Terry plus some coconut antics.

We didn’t leave Jody out of the celebration. I put some fresh flowers in the little vase she holds – some lavender and columbine from the side garden by the house.

When I walked back to the house after the chimps’ parties, I came across this deer sneaking a treat from the cherry tree. Everyone should have a treat on such a special day!

A Very CSNW Christmas (Jamie’s Edition)

Today was a Christmas to be remembered! It was such a great party for all the chimpanzees here. So much was happening we had no choice to split up the footage to make two videos. So please enjoy Jamie’s group’s Christmas celebration today, and be sure to come back tomorrow to watch the other groups’ parties! Including George’s first CSNW Christmas! I won’t say much other than he was really, really, really excited!

Jamie was also excited and partied her heart out!

Countdown to Jamieween!

October is one of the most exciting months here at CSNW. Between the respite of cool weather after a hot, dry summer and the excitement of Jamieween around the corner, it’s a month that everyone looks forward to. Speaking of Jamieween, we are only two sleeps away from the big party day!

As we countdown, I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane and look back at previous Jamieween celebrations. 🙂

World Chimpanzee Day 2024 Celebration

Happy World Chimpanzee Day. I’m so glad there is a day to think about and celebrate our closest living relative, and it’s so fitting that July 14th is the anniversary of when Jane Goodall arrived to what was to become Gombe. Dr. Goodall has changed the world for chimpanzees, and has made millions of people aware of how extraordinary they are as a species and as individuals. We are all part of her legacy of scientific discovery and advocacy.

The Big 3-4 for the Big Guy

Today, we celebrated Cy’s 34th birthday! For his birthday, caregivers set up his own personal library in the mezzanine. For lunch, Cy and friends were treated to a forage of pineapple bowls filled with cherry tomatoes, purple sweet potatoes, and pears on a bed of napa cabbage.

Cy is a gentle being with such a genuine heart. When Cy stares at you, it’s with love. He can make even the toughest individual blush with his soft eyes. To know Cy is to know love, and we are all very lucky to know him.
