A Very CSNW Christmas (Jamie’s Edition)

December 25, 2025 by Chad de Bree

Today was a Christmas to be remembered! It was such a great party for all the chimpanzees here. So much was happening we had no choice to split up the footage to make two videos. So please enjoy Jamie’s group’s Christmas celebration today, and be sure to come back tomorrow to watch the other groups’ parties! Including George’s first CSNW Christmas! I won’t say much other than he was really, really, really excited!

Jamie was also excited and partied her heart out!

And please remember to donate! We are getting so close to our $100,000 goal by tomorrow in order to unlock an additional $40,000! Every little bit helps!

Help us reach our end of the year goal here!

This was a fantastic Christmas Party! It reminds me of the parties when there were only 7 chimps. Great fun to watch. The chimps were happy and enjoying every bite. It was such joy to see them having such a rip roaring party to the point of Jamie passing out. Loved this video! I can’t wait to see George tomorrow!

:joy: that very reassuring nose pick was hysterical!!
    Well, done everyone!

    Merry Christmas!

Can’t wait to see George tomorrow. I’m sure he recognized Christmas from when he was young. Sad. But I’m so glad he has Christmas again.

Thank you for the ling videos!
Foxie’s excitement was the best! And good old beautiful Annie, with her “most likely to”!
I was surprised not to see Neggie getting that lettuce snowman off the tree. Had she had too much already? No sparkling cider?
Bubba loved his bouncy ball before he even unwrapped it!
What a fun party! Everyone got some of their favorite bits!

Hi Linda! There was sparkling cider. That was an oversight on my part. Negra actually grabbed two of the lettuce snow people when they were given access to the playroom on the way to her nesting spot.

Thanks, Chad! I was wondering how Neggie could have left them behind, and Bubba loves his cider. But who doesnt!? I meant to get some pear this year and forgot it.

What a great party! I am very happy for the Queen’s Royal Troop that they could enjoy their feast and revels. Jamie’s new hairdo is fabulous and festive. And as Foxie so expertly demonstrated, nothing quite says “Joyeux Noel” like inserting your little finger up your friend and Boss’s nose.

You know it’s a great Christmas party when the guests even eat off the tree. The CSNW elves must been up all night preparing this feast. Thank you.

WHAT’S WITH THE XMAS TREES? ARE THEY REAL? WHAT KIND OF INTERACTION DO THE CHIMPS HAVE WITH THE TREES?

    • Linda C says

      December 25, 2025 at 9:11 pm

IIRC, they planted them outside in the past

Hi Joan! Linda is correct! The trees are real and after Christmas they are planted on Young’s Hill/The Bray. We generally wait until Spring to do so when the ground softens up a little bit. For the most part they leave the trees alone (besides whatever goodies we hide in them), though Jody used to pick off some branches to munch on throughout the day.

Pre feast excitement is my favorite and Foxie wins the prize for the best response! The excitement is running high when you stick your finger into Jamie’s nose!

My heart swells with happiness whenever I see Neggie settling into a holiday feast at her reserved table for one. I love the way everyone has their dining station and their special friend to play with. And hats off to Burrito! He was collecting goods and goodies by the arm full. Burrito seemed to be the first one to notice the decorations were edible!! 🙂 Everything looked scrumptious but what was inside the little green bags hanging on the tree? Jamie kept tossing them. 🙂 However, she did not pass up the lettuce snow people! (Brilliant idea btw!) I could watch Jamie’s group all day long.

Thank you staff! You made today so very special. You are the best Christmas gift of all. Merry Christmas to all of you.

My thought is the bags had seeds or popcorn, but Jamie was hoping for walnuts or fruit. Whatever she wanted, they didn’t have! Which is fine. It means she wasn’t at all hungry on Christmas.

Hi Kathleen! Most of the little green bags had walnuts in them. Others had hazelnuts or almonds.

Thanks Chad. Sounds yummy to me!

Had to rewatch this holiday video. It’s wonderful. And the photo (used in the blog email) of Jamie looking up at the top of tree is melt-my-heart the very best!! Her expression and the light on her face are too perfect. Sigh…

Again, thank you for making the chimps Christmas extra special. I hope Santa rewarded all you generously!!

What a party! Jamie seemed to be in a good mood, at least she didn’t mind a friendly “finger up the nose” from Foxie! I notice Missy was picking all of the cherry tomatoes off of the tree and Neggie went for the Hawaiian roll first! Of course, Annie couldn’t resist a play session with her BFF and Bubbie was bouncing around as usual! I could watch them all day!
