Ransom demands

Thank you to those who have already contributed to the ransom that will release the blog and the Burrito video! I hope you enjoyed the photos that were sent to you for your ransom donation.

We know how much you love stopping by to see videos and photos of the chimpanzees, so help bring them back!

Here are the current demands in order for the blog to be released and the very cute Burrito video to be posted:

Just one person takes advantage of the $1500 Candy Cane Weekend deal that allows you to be an Alpha Pal to all Seven chimpanzees, or two people take advantage of the Best Friends Pal Candy Cane Weekend deal that includes a calendar in addition to the other goodies the Best Friends level of sponsorship offers, or ten more people sign up to be holiday pals at any level. Candy Cane Weekend Deals & Holding the Blog Hostage

I need to hold the blog hostage. I have a great video of Burrito to share, but first, we need some more photos on the chimps’ Holiday Pal candy canes. We’re jumping on the Black Friday, Cyber Monday bandwagon (and don’t forget that Giving Tuesday is coming up!), and we’re offering two deals on the first ever “Candy Cane Weekend.”

what to do with all that money you saved on Black Friday

Hopefully you all saw the Thanksgiving blog post yesterday with the video full of food squeaking that included Burrito inhaling a piece of Celebration Roast made by our friends at Field Roast.

For most Americans, now that the big feast is behind us, it’s the dreaded or celebrated Black Friday, the day that shoppers everywhere are searching for the best deals, and non-shoppers are tucked away in their homes avoiding the madness (maybe some of them doing some secret shopping online).

Your donations literally put the food on the table for the chimpanzees (okay, maybe it’s not really a table, but you know what I mean), and we particularly rely on monthly donations to keep the bills paid and keep us inspired to do more, so please consider the Alpha Pal or Best Friends Pal donation levels.

Right now Foxie is ahead in the Pal fundraising, but that could change at any minute. Keep updated by watching the photos fill up the chimps’ candy canes!

Today we give thanks to Robert Maurer, who sponsored a day of sanctuary for the chimpanzees! Robert wishes to extend his gratitude to all of the staff and volunteers who provide care for these beautiful chimpanzees. Robert, thank you so much for your kind words, it’s certainly our privilege and honor to be able to do so. And thank you so much for thinking of the chimpanzees on Thanksgiving and making their day even more special! All of the primates here at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest wish you a wonderful holiday!

Green Toys!

And our thankfulness continues! If you saw the blog yesterday, you’ll know that the chimpanzees received many wonderful new gifts from some of our amazing supporters! Well, today the chimpanzees also received new toys from Green Toys! In addition to the ongoing challenge we (and Enrichment Coordinator, Debbie) have of finding things that are new and interesting for the chimpanzees’ active minds (particularly Jamie’s!), as you can imagine, the life as an item of chimpanzee enrichment is not an easy one. So after receiving a variety of Green Toys from our amazing supporters via our Wishlist, we were pretty excited to learn that they are chimp-tested and caregiver-approved! Green Toys are not only environmentally friendly but can take a licking from the chimps and remain relatively unscathed.

We are thankful for…

We have a lot to be thankful for at CSNW. Our supporters are truly wonderful people who share a passion for the chimps. Whether it’s sending us a fun package, or sponsoring a day, or participating in the Holiday Chimpanzee Pal contest, it all helps.

Here’s some gifts we received yesterday. Syd and Diane sent us a big box with toys for the chimps, including a pinata for Annie—and guess what? She went straight for it!

I wasn’t able to get very many good photos of the chimps with all of the gifts, but I can tell you that they really loved it. In the spirit of Thanksgiving this week, I want to say thanks to our supporters for all you do for us!
