Foxie was being especially playful this morning.

Garden enrichment
Jackie has been working pretty diligently on the best enrichment of all — the garden. It’s really great for the chimps to watch the plants grow, see us harvest their food, and then of course get to enjoy the delicious fresh produce! I have been helping her, too. Here’s us sifting the compost which we use as a growing medium for the plants. Just like Jackie said the other day, recycling at it’s finest!
Here is the view of the garden from the south side of the chimp house:
And here are some of our fruits and veggies that are doing great! Broccoli, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and strawberries.
The chimps particularly like the fresh strawberries!

photos of the day
First, Lynn brought in some more trolls for Foxie’s birthday and the Troll Olympics. I have become quite familiar with the facial features of troll dolls these past three years, and I noticed one troll in Lynn’s batch whose ears were slightly different than those I had seen before. I realized she reminded me of one of the chimps…
Take a look at the photos below and tell me you think.

I believe there’s a definite resemblance. What do you think?
Enough about troll dolls for the moment, here are some great photos that J.B. took yesterday:

In preparation for Foxie’s birthday and the Troll Olympics, several supporters have been gathering troll dolls. Foxie and the town of Roslyn, where the Troll Olympics will be held, have no idea what’s in store…
Just take a look at the dolls that Monica found for Foxie! This photo was taken before she packed them up and shipped them to the sanctuary:
If you’re local, I hope you’ll join us at the Troll Olympics on July 30th. Let me know if you’d like to volunteer.
If you’re not local, well, perhaps you can create your own troll celebration and let us know about it.
Big thanks to our partner ARRF Animal Rescue who is having their 2nd annual Doggie Olympics before the Troll Olympics at the same location – you should definitely come to both!
And thanks to sponsors of the Roslyn games: Abbott’s Printing, Inc., KXA 93.7 The Wind (if you know the area, you know why the local radio station is called The Wind!), Roslyn Downtown Association, Cascade East Animal Clinic and Jeb’s Pet Supply.
