The other day Kelsi wrote about distractions and how Mave ran out on the Bray, for the first time, during a fight that involved the whole group and ended with all nine chimps out on the Bray. During this skirmish Lucky somehow found herself up on Ryan’s Lookout for the first time and she enjoyed tapping into her adventurous side so much that she did it again later that same day. Then the next day when we were trying to serve breakfast to the nine we couldn’t find Lucky and turns out she was up on Ryan’s Lookout again, by herself, enjoying the morning! Today Jenna and I anticipated her journey up to the Lookout so we came armed with our camera’s and words of encouragement

I love hearing about moments like this. I wish Lucky would encourage Honey B to go with her.

Good for Lucky!
Sabrina, was she wearing a fashionable waistband in the video?

Sabrina, how exciting is it to be there, observing the trepidation and being able to jump in with some friendly encouragement, coaxing Lucky to go for it?! Without your support she may have passed on the idea. All I can think of is Lucky when she first arrived and how, at times, she seemed anxious as she scooted and rocked her way around the chimp house on her blankets. And look at her now! What was she thinking while up on high? I am soooooo excited and happy for Lucky! Yay!!
Eli says
Yaay! Go Lucky! It makes me so happy to see her outside and climbing. Maybe this will be the encouragement the others need to get outside, too!

Ryan would be thrilled that Lucky mustered up so much courage to venture away from the chimp house to his lookout. This action by Lucky reminded me of the Cle Elum 7 and how confident and secure they became being outside. it was a gradual process and different for each chimp but little by little they progressed and now look at them! The same will happen with the WW chimps on The Bray with Lucky leading the way!?Karen and Don
Sandie Allaway says
Do any of the chimps respond to their names?
