In today’s blog video, see what Burrito and friends were up to this morning!

You Have Questions? We Have Answers… Hopefully…
When we post the daily blog, the comment section are usually peppered with great questions you have, our beloved followers. Whether it’s about the chimpanzees’ personalities, the caregivers’ work, the ongoing introductions, medical procedures, and a vast array of other topics, you always ask great, sometimes hard-hitting, questions. It has been a long while since we have done this, but we would like to extend a warm invitation for any and all questions you may have. We will try to answer your questions as a blog topic of discussion to hopefully really answer your questions as detailed to the best of our abilities. I fall in the category of people who think there is “no dumb question” as it relates to the sanctuary, the chimpanzees, primates in general, advocacy, etc. If you’re thinking of question you’re hesitant to ask, there’s a big chance someone else is wondering the same thing. I know I probably was at some point.
Again, we will try to answer your questions to the best of our abilities or at the very least try to lead you in the right direction. You can always check out the previous call outs for questions (here, and here) if to see if any of those spark any ideas of things you were wondering.

And then there was Mave…

Lounge: To Lie, Sit, or Stand in a Lazy Way
Everyone has their favorite way of lounging. Here are a few ways we lounge around the sanctuary. Which style of lounging do you prefer?
When The Cat’s Away…
Yesterday, Jamie spent some time in the clinic for a checkup. You will hear more on her procedure in the days to come, but rest assured that she is doing just fine!
Today, I wanted to show you what the rest of her crew has been up to since Jamie has been in isolation.
You know what they say!? When the cat’s away…
Playtime Posse
Central Washington’s starting to cool off, and the forage season on the Bray and Young’s Hill is winding down. Still, Burrito and Negra aren’t about to waste a warm, sunny day—they’re out there soaking up every minute. Once the sun disappears, the party just moves inside. No matter the weather, they keep the fun going!
Burrito, Annie And A Nest Of Pink Tickets
A few days ago, while cleaning the playroom on the original side of the building (where Jamie’s group lives), I heard some loud chimpanzee laughter coming from the front rooms. Of course, I was pretty sure who one of the chimps was, but who was he playing with? It was Annie! Playing in a big pile of pink raffle tickets! I really love seeing Annie able to let loose and enjoy playful interactions with her family. Being low on the social hierarchy can lead to stressful moments throughout the day, but Annie proves that she can still relax and kick up her heels with her friends once in a while.
Fall Into The Season
The mornings are becoming foggier.
The grass is growing with a golden hue.
And the days are becoming shorter and nights becoming darker.
As the ravens begin to claim their roost in the barn on the gloomy days, the signs of Fall is here with one of the biggest celebrations at CSNW on the horizon…
