Tomorrow (Monday) is the first day of the International Primatological Society Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland. There is a very important symposium occurring at this conference on August 8th (Foxie’s birthday) – a discussion of the use of chimpanzees in invasive biomedical research. Also, the Project R&R site is filled with information about the use of chimpanzees in biomedical research and the work being done to end this practice. It’s shocking what we have put chimpanzees through, including those now (thankfully) living at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest.
I start every morning by reading your blog and am in ah of these amazing chimpanzees and the work you do.
I thought some of your other readers might be interested in the website goodsearch.com. It’s like a search engine (sponsored by yahoo) that gives money to your charity of choice everytime you use it to search. I noticed this weekend that the NW Chimp Sanc is a registered charity there! It’s not much, but every little bit seems to help.

Diana, thank you for posting this information ~ as soon as time permits, I’ll be following up and looking into it. This gets to the point ~ we want to be focusing on solutions to keep them in the wild, where they belong, to begin with.
