Jody’s instincts

August 5, 2008 by Sarah

There’s been a lot of talk on this blog about Foxie and Trixie, her adopted troll baby. Foxie’s not the only one who shows mothering behavior with the objects we provide for the chimpanzees. Here’s a quick video of Jody snuggling up with a stuffed animal friend.

ooohhh, I wondered why I hadn’t seen any photos or videos of the chimps with the stuffed animals – knowing how much comfort they can bring humans, I’d thought the chimps would’ve been more interested in them. Thanks Sarah.

That is so beautiful. It breaks my heart that these wonderful women have had babies taken from them. I wonder where all these babies are. Do we know? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could get them all out of labs if that is where they are and expand this sanctuary so that the families could be reunited. I am glad that Jody and Foxie can get some comfort.

Aw, this is so beautiful and so sad at the same time. I wonder : if she had babies, is she thinking about them when she holds this stuffed animal? 🙁
