Foxie and Trixie

August 3, 2008 by Sarah

As many of you know, Foxie adopted Trixie the troll doll a few weeks ago (July 13th to be exact). She still carries Trixie around with her almost everywhere she goes. As far as we know she’s only dropped her a handful of times, and she’s always gotten her back within a few minutes. Trixie’s getting a bit dirty and we could use your help – who has another troll doll? (clarification 8/4/08: We’re not looking to replace Trixie, just to add to the family!)

Foxie’s got a very special occasion coming up – she turns 32 on August 8th (although we’ll be celebrating it on the 11th). So if you happen to have a troll doll hidden away in your closet, send it to her for her birthday! You can mail it to us at PO Box 952, Cle Elum, WA 98922.

What makes you think Foxie will let go of Trixie, even for another troll, no matter how grubby Trixie is? 🙂

An excellent question! Interestingly, Foxie had a set of twins when she was used in the lab as a breeder. Chimpanzee twins are very rare. We don’t want to take Trixie away from Foxie, and don’t expect her to let her go. We just thought it’d be nice to expand her “baby” options!

After googling “troll dolls” this morning – it appears the best option (unless someone reallly does have one in a closet) to replicate Trixie is on Amazon – but the selection is listed as “assorted” – so the hair color could be different… do you think this would be a problem for Foxie?

I just found 2 trolls on ebay and the seller will send them directly to you. So hopefully they shoud arrive by the 11th. It will be fun to watch Foxie’s “brood” increase and see how she manages to keep all them with her on a regular basis!! Enjoy!!!

Diana ~ for Foxie’s birthday, I just put a bit of low sugar dried papaya in the mail hoping it’ll get to you by the 8th. I know that we’ll have all kinds of treats and gifts both from the Chimp Party at Patty’s on the 9th and the party for Foxie on the 11th, but wanted to have something for her on the 8th 🙂

Cindy and Pam: so glad you two are responding to the call for more surrogate babies!!!!!

Just heard from the “troll” seller, she has shipped them out priority today (Thurs) so they should arrive on Monday. She said she also included a soft troll thinking Foxie might like that one too. I wrote her a little about Foxie and the other chimps, hearts melt at their stories and messages get spread.
