New Year’s Eve? New Climbing Structure!

December 31, 2023 by Diana

Thank you to that long list of supporters in the video above who donated towards new climbing structures in the Comfort & Joy online auction. What a fabulous day for some new adventure! I hope you all are looking forward to new things with the turn of the calendar tomorrow.

We have had a lot of new things delivered to the sanctuary recently! A huge shout-out to everyone who has purchased items through our Amazon wish list this month. Even with the wonders of modern technology and the efficient delivery of packages, we often don’t know who sent us wish list items. So, if you don’t receive a personal thank  you, it might be because your name wasn’t included as the gift giver. This time of year, we have quite a backlog of thanking to do too, so perhaps a thank you is on the way. In either case, please know how grateful you are for thinking of the chimpanzees and providing them and the sanctuary with much needed and much loved items.

Big thanks also to everyone who has made a donation of cash or securities this month. It’s heartwarming to receive your year-end support and read your messages about how much the sanctuary means to you. We appreciate every dollar donated and will put it to good use in 2024. THANK YOU!

Yay for the new climbing structure! Thank you so much to everyone who made it happen. Look what you did! You are awesome human beings <3

Thanks to the donors, and to Jake and JB for those chilly days at work!

That went almost 100% as expected: Missy would arrive first (But she used the ladder, I expected her to climb the post!), Annie would be the first to summit, and Foxie would be on Quality Control duty! (with her friend….Lemon Chiffon?)

Wow, I can see great fun times ahead with the magnificent climbing structure! Loved seeing my sweet brave Annie be the first to reach the top of the ladder and examine the views. 2024 rolls in and a huge thankyou for everything you do at that beloved sanctuary. Happy New Year to one and all!

Knew Foxie would have to do her structural inspection. Safety first, after all.
No surprise Missy was first up and I’m so proud of Annie being the first up to the very top of the latter. What wonderful confidence she’s gained over the years at CSNW.

IIRC, she was also the first to summit the Escher (now on the Bray).

I love the predictability of Missy being the first to zoom up to the top. I also love the surprise of Annie being first to the top. I marvel at her leaps of courage over the years. And Burrito, too! He’s no longer that awkward boy, he looked quite stealth climbing up to the top! And Foxie, staying true to form as Inspector General making sure J.B. and Jake followed all safety protocols. And….Negra in her nest.

Thank you to each donor for giving the chimps new firsts, new adventures, new views, new surprises! Thank you J.B. and Jake for expanding their world and imaginations. What a fabulous ending to 2023!!!

(I am ready to hang my Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest 2024 calendar! Excited to see what the new year brings. Hope. Love. Home. Health.)

Big, big thanks to those generous donors. It must be wonderful to see the joy your gifts give. Annie never fails to amaze me…..is this really the awkward, unsure Annie that needed constant support from her BF? She has really blossomed into a beautful, confident chimp lady. They’re going to have so much fun on it with stunning views from the high spots. Great job JB and Jake!

Well, what can i say except, fantastic, beautiful, amazing job all round. To Jake and JB, and to everyone, not only donors, but all caregivers and to all our chimp cousins. You have all come so far since the very first beginning, and everyone should be very proud of themselves. I for 1, am looking forward to this brand new year and what it will bring for you all. May all everyone hopes, dreams and more importantly wishes come true. With love from a tiny part if Scotland.
