Burrito enjoys the view

March 12, 2012 by Debbie

We never predicted that Burrito would be as comfortable on the hill as he has been (see this post from Day 2 of Young’s Hill). And although he has explored every inch of the hill closest to the chimp house, he has yet to go much farther than that. As far as I know, this picture marks the first time he’s climbed up one of the Young’s Hill platforms. Everyone has been taking things at their own pace—Missy and Jamie have been Young’s Hill all stars since the beginning, but Jody and Foxie took a lot longer to warm up to the idea of such an open space. It seems like Burrito might be taking his time to adjust as well. I can’t wait until I see him at the very top of the hill!

He looks so WONDERFUL! Yes, they all follow their own schedule…when they are comfortable, they are comfortable! THank you guys again so much for always allowing us to see the gang via photos/videos, etc. This photo is a good start to my week! You enjoy Burrito!

Once he figures out that the hill means more room away for the girls you will a tough time getting him back to the chimp house. He looks pretty comfortable on the platform.

His expression looks like he’s saying, “Oh…won’t you look at that!”
I’m thrilled that he’s getting comfortable enough to go exploring. I can’t wait to see them in the summer!

Great photo, Debbie. You and the team are so right in letting them go at their own pace, not pushing them to go out of their comfort zone. When it warms up, I bet Negra will be out there exploring as well, soaking up the sun beams.

I’m looking forward to seeing Negra build a fabulous nest on one of the platforms and just basking in the sunshine!

I think either Diana or J.B. took this photo – and it’s an amazing one!

Great shot of Mr B. He looks like doesn’t have a care in the world. As it should be. 🙂

I guess he’s on Buritto time.. taking HIS OWN sweet time.. I love it, because he chooses when, where, how,
and no question aksed, or no one forcing him to do anything,

    Buritto is finaly respected,
and encouraged to just be himself,,
