Here are the two best pics of the day! First is an action shot of Missy and Diana playing tug-o-war with a tie (note that both primates have huge play faces!). Second is a picture of Foxie all snuggled up in the sunshine with one of her babies.

The picture of Foxie is precious! Can I use it as my screensaver? The tug of war is great and both look like they are having equal the fun! My vote is on Missy for winning.
I have Negra as my screensaver, BUT Foxie has the troll I sent her for her birthday!!!! So I may Have to change…..Guess what girls!!! I started my “Chimps for Change” can at work today, everyone knows about the chimps and someone brought me a can/piggybank with a lock on it so I decorated it with all the pictures from the first day outside and walked around work and people emptied their pockets….yipee!! I will send it with my box that I am working on! I want to leave it on my desk tomorrow because it is payday, I took alot of green too! I will send the can in and Diana can put it somewhere . I love all the pics, and I look at the news coverage 10 times a day. Did anyone else start their ” Chimps for Change”????? Are the chimps up early in the morning to head outside??? Do they sleep all night???I received an app for volunteering at save the chimps next year for my vacation, very exciting!!!!! Love to my seven from heaven and all the staff. I promise the Care package is almost on its way!!!! XOXOXOXOXOXOXO
Wow, Shelly C! You are awesome!!! These pictures are wonderful!!! Everyone looks so relaxed and happy…..no stressful expressions or tense body language! Just everyone having FUN!! That’s what we like to see!! 🙂
So I am really rally exhausted and wanted to go to bed early so I can get up at 4am to get in early tomorrow, I came in and turned on my lamp on the nightstand looked up and guess what was coming down from the ceiling headed straight for my pillow…..it was the size of a fifty cent piece,,,,a BLACK WIDOW………OMG….Do you think I will sleep at all tonight……..I have arachnaphobia (sp?) so bad….I will never sleep tonight, anyway just thoought I would share, I will probably be back here because God knows I will not get a wink of sleep!!!!!
I just sent Ingrid Newkirk a long letter in regards to CSNW, I received a message from her on myspace about “Chimps in showbusiness” so I filled her in on this sanctuary, I have sent so many emails and letters I hope we start to see some of my contacts here. As long as we keep spreading the word, the more people know about it the more donations we can collect. Does anyone else on here have a myspace???? I am trying to get ALL Chimp/Primate, like Fauna Foundation is on thereo I can keep spreading the word and sending links to CSNW. Does CSNW have a myspace, I could not find one????
What a great shot of Diana and Missy ~ love the play faces!! And that photo of foxie…..I just want to gently stroke the side of her precious little face and reassure her that everything will be alright now.
Shelly C – I’m very afraid of large spiders, too ~ my trick is to get them to crawl on to the brush end of a (very) long broom, then I take them outside and shake them off of the broom into the shrubs – a long way from the house! Try to think of the sweet spider in Charlotte’s Web……(yeah, right, I know….maybe just go get the broom….)
Happy Birthday to Karen of Margaret and Karen! It’s tomorrow! Hope you celebrate like crazy!
Here’s a thought on the Change for Chimps….maybe we can add that as one of the projects for the next chimp party (or anyone else out there who wants to have a chimp party). Maybe if we made up a bunch of boxes with photo’s, etc, on them, the people from the party could all take a few home and distribute them – or give some to friends and family to distribute. Then of course we just have to remember to collect them again at the end of the month, or however long they’re out for.
Whole Foods does a donation thing where people can donate their 10 cent canvas bag refund. I submitted CSNW at the Whole Foods in Redmond – haven’t heard back yet. Other stores may do similar things….just a thought! 🙂
Speaking of spiders……I am really not fond of the large sized spiders either!!! The other night, I was walking up our carpeted stairs to the computer room to check the blog, and I saw a huge 50 cent-coin-sized spider squished on one of the stairs! I just hope I wasn’t the one that stepped on it…and I hope I didn’t have bare feet!! Yikes!!! :/
Happy Birthday to you!! Happy Birthday to you!!! Happy Birthday Dear Karen!!! Happy Birthday to you!!! 🙂 I hope you have a WONDERFUL birthday!!
love the play faces & I love it how you guys definitely know how to make the very best of a bad situation
you rapscallions – GO MISSY! – GO DIANA!
lookin’ good in the sun Foxie!
these pictures express & tell us a thousand words
so weird all the talk about spiders cuz I saved a really small spider earlier today that was about to go down the drain – it was struggling to get out of the drain so I placed a paper towel near it and it climbed on – hooray!
I’ll be sending some scratch soon for that new washer & dryer – yeah!
and Happy Birthday Karen – Best Wishes! – cheers!
love that you saved little spidey, Dee
Happy Birthday Karen!!!!!! And what a great weekend to celebrate….a 3 day weekend…………….yes!!! I have to tell you all I just went for an MRI and the only thing I could think about while I was in that big machine were all the chimps out in this world in scientific labs, laying there with those loud scary noises, praying that chimps in research never have to do something like that!!! It is all I think about anymore, the trees on the way to work, how great it would be for all the chimps in the labs to be able to climb trees, when I eat friut I think of all the chimps that do not get their daily fruit, all of this lately is too much pain on the brain you know!!!!!!!!The only thing that makes me feel better is to get on the computer and spread the word!!!!!!!! If I were a rich woman I would spend all my money on saving the chimps in labs!!!! Okay I am going to start my box, my care package for the 7 beautiful souls of Cle Elum! Then I am going to a concert at Konocti, out under the stars to see Poison, Bret Michaels. Have a great night everyone!!!!
Love the photo of Diana and Missy playing tug-o-war.
Who won? 😉
I hear ya Shelly – when I would look at all the fruit or vegetable peelings in my sink after I peeled them – I always thought to myself how some of these caged beings (any primates) who are not in a good place, would just love to have a taste of these, even if it were just the peelings – cuz they ain’t got much else
