Halfway there!

August 31, 2008 by J.B.

There’s been a great response so far to the washer/dryer fundraising drive initiated by our blog community. At this point we’ve received over $1,300 towards a heavy duty washer and dryer to help us keep up with all of our chimp laundry. We’re still doing research to find the best equipment, but we’ll let you know as soon as we settle on something. Thanks and keep up the good work!

We would have one myspace page for the CSNW and ewach of the CCC’s would go in and create a space for themself and be connected to the page on the friends list, have you ever seen a myspace page??? I can send you mine so you can get an ideal! I have alot of animal rights stuff on mine so it is sweet but graphic as well!

Wow – look what happens when I go a day without reading the comments on the blog. It’s great that you are connecting with each other. I was looking into setting up a forum that would be connected to the blog, but I also like the idea of a My Space page for supporters. We have a causes page on myspace for CSNW: http://tinyurl.com/5eerbn

and our advocacy program Primate Patrol has a MySpace page: http://tinyurl.com/5jfz6v

and CSNW has a Facebook page:

Yes, I’ve been on myspace, but I was concerned the CSNW wouldn’t want you to set one up for them or using their name. I didn’t want you to go to all the trouble and then have to take it down. I love your enthusiasm Shelly C. It’s obvious in your posts that you have a really kind heart.

DIana approved the Myspace, I will be wrking on it and let everyone know when it is ready! Can eeveryone in the meantime create a myspace and may include CCC in you name, that way we can keep the CCC’s at the top of the friends space, and make sure to include your picture. If you have any pictures or quotes, stories send them to me to put on the space, also we need a song to put on the space….any suggestions….my email address is [email protected], and the most inpotant part is Diana said ”

“Another thought, perhaps as a group, you can create a description which explains that you are friends of the Cle Elum Seven or however you want to word it. Maybe a mission statement? I’m sure others in the group will have great ideas along those lines.”

You can email me or post on myspace on my URI

Hey Shelly C ~ I’m in. May take me just a bit to get it done, but I’m definitely in! Thanks so much for doing the work!

WOW Shelly C way to go. I’m in too. That is as soon as I learn how to create a my space page. I’ll talk to my 16 year old. 🙂 I was her nanny and we are still close. WOW! This is a neat community we are building.

This is a great idea…..we want in….but I (Margaret since I am the techie one) have to learn about myspace first. I am not quite sure what you are talking about doing. So I have to learn. I will though!

I am so glad there is someone else who doesn’t know. Thanks Margaret for boosting my spirit. I thought I was the only one who had never been on My Space! But I also am willing to learn. Anything for our wonderful 7!

OK, I am officially confused!! I currently don’t have a handy teenager around to guide me thru all this. Do we all have to have myspace pages to blog on the one Shelly C. is setting up. Margaret, Karen, Shelly K, Jeani, I’m in your league!! This might take awhile and I will probably need help!!! But it’s all a great idea!

OKAY GIRLS…GO TO MYSPACE.COM AND CLICK TO SIGN UP…. then you will enter your email address and think of a password and what you want to be as your user name, get your page and then I will explain how to input a layout and upload photos, song, videos, etc, I am telling you now it is addicting so be ready!!! I am on my way home and will check in when I get there, any questions email me , I do not mind helping you make your space fun, okay!

I’m scared ;-}……..I will do it for sure and Shelly C, you’ve done an awesome job………I’m sure I’ll be able to sign up okay, but as far as creating a page……..well…….um, do I have to? Or can I chat with everyone without having a page?

I think Diana mentioned that in addition to myspace, she could also put a link from this blog just for the CCC’s to chat. Myspace is a much larger forum I think….right? I guess good learning for all of us! 🙂

I’m with Shelly K., I don’t mind signing up but really don’t find myself that motivated to create a page. Can we just chat with a “blank” page?

MySpace and Facebook and all those kind of things scare me — it’s silly, I know, but they do scare me! 😉

When Diana said that she was looking into setting up a forum that would be connected to the blog … if she meant a message board type of thing, that wouldn’t scare me at all. 🙂

Hi Roslyn ~ yeah, we are in the process of learning what the estimated timeline might be for getting a CCC thread established. Diana may respond here or if we learn more, we’ll be sure to blog it! Thanks for commenting, it’s important to have everyone’s feedback on what the easiest and most comfortable forum is for the CCC’s to chat.
