Just the other day you got to see Burrito enjoy a coconut! If you missed the blog post, you can see it here.
Today we get to see Foxie, Annie and Negra enjoy their coconuts.
Foxie and Annie visited Negra in the greenhouse, so it was a good opportunity to let them have whole coconuts without the stress of group drama. Because Foxie and Annie are considered low ranking chimps in their social group, they don’t always get to fully participate in extra special treats and enrichment without some stress. It was so nice to see them fully enjoy their coconuts!
It was a beautiful, warm summer afternoon. Perfect for a special treat with special friends!

A whole coconut for her Tiny self! This brings me a whole lotta joy! Thanks, Krissy!
Also, was that Jamie in the loft window, clocking the coconut treat?
Thank you so much for making special accommodations for our beloved Negra. I think of her all the time, and send her my love.
And, on her birthday, I wish Betsey Beauvine a happy new year of life. I don’t suppose that coconuts quite appeal to her palate, but perhaps some apples and berries might make a good substitute for the type of fare that was on the menu at yesterday’s birthday party for Gordo.
Lovely to see Fox and Annie on their visit with Neggie and getting to participate in special treats. They were all really enjoying the coconuts.
I always wondered about the ones on the lowest steps of the ladder getting the same quantities of special food, when there is a forage. Or is it first come, first serve?
I assume there is no way to secretly give them some when they lucked out?
