Honey B’s Tips & Tricks

March 20, 2025 by Kelsi

When it comes to a mess, Honey B knows a thing or two. Many of you might know that Honey B doesn’t mind a messy room and would in fact live in her own mess for a while if she had a say in it, and sometimes she does, which is why she is also an expert at cleaning a mess! Last week, one of the enrichment days was soap buckets. This is where we put in the tiniest amount of soap and make a lightly soapy bucket and put out scrub brushes for the chimps. Sometimes the chimps enjoy the enrichment and other times, the chimps wonder why we didn’t fill the buckets with a tasty juice. Honey B took the opportunity to use her soap buckets, whether it was because she just thought it was fun or because she thought we missed a few spots, we can’t know. What we do know is that Honey B was thoroughly enjoying herself, so much so, we later provided her a towel so that she could dry her front room and she was very enthusiastic to be able to continue her cleaning process. Honey B really is one cool chimp.

That’s not a chain! Honey B likes to wear things around her waist! it’s either one of her fanny packs or a headband.

Honey Beans could be devoting precious time to plotting and executing various capers and heists were it not for the negligence of her human attendees in keeping her living quarters spick-and-span to her exacting standards. For shame, I tell you, for shame!

Honey B—- you and I have the same cleaning strategy: Survey the scene for an extended period of time, and then take your time, take some breaks and then take another break, spill some water, make a couple of halfhearted scrubs, take a break. Slow and steady wins the race! That’s a tortoise thing and you’re a chimp, so you might not get that one.

“If you look good, you feel good.” That got me laughing, Kelsi (if my memory serves me correctly, wasn’t there a photo from earlier years with Honey B sporting an apron?) I got this funny feeling that the camera operator was distracting Honey B from fully enjoying a good scrub session. In some ways, Honey B reminds me of Jamie….Smart, likes to be engaged in interesting and new experiences, and gets a little irritated when the paparazzi catches them in the act!

Honey B is a pro! Look at that technique! Be careful, she might start asking for a salary soon!

I am pleasantly surprized that she is using her “new” hand, and it looks very good from where I am watching.!
    Well done surgical team!!!

yeah, that’s one way of keeping her hand clean. Give her a bucket of soapy water.. I remember blogs past when she would scrub and scrub the caging. The cleaning team was in the other room and she was cleaning “with”. them. She was much more excited when she was working with a team. like humans, it’s motivating.
I always love Honey B’s cleaning movies. Thank you!
