You all saw in J.B’s blog recently that Rayne had a physical exam last week and he shared with you what goes into making such a thing possible with a chimpanzee but there is another aspect of the exam that I’m going to share today. And that is getting one individual separated from their group so they can safely be sedated for their vet visit. You can follow me step by step during this process in today’s blog video!

Thank you for sharing that process. And I’m glad Rayne’s exam went well.
Well, Sabrina, you certainly had all the angles covered with that somewhat tricky “separation” procedure and no doubt Willy B and the gang know something was afoot. Congratulations on getting that show on the road and making sure Rayne was sorted, mind you those reward treats sure worked wonders.
I managed to miss how it was that she knew something was up for her and that she had to leave each room while making sure the others didn’t follow her.
It was indeed a masterful orchestration of chimps.
Sabrina *quietly* showed her the juice bottle. Playing it cool means no sharing, more for her!
Good work, Sabrina!
I read Rayne’s final look as “I got duped but that’s okay. Feelin pretty good!”
Well done!! Once again you and Rayne make this multi-room and door maneuver appear easy! I am curious if part your training with the chimps includes this follow-the-leader and receive a reward process? It’s like playing Whack A Mole. You never know who is going to pop up to ruin your plans. Rayne seemed aware of possible conflicts and followed your cues smoothly. This process seems much harder to train for than accepting the needle!
Very interesting indeed!
