Partners in Play

January 17, 2025 by Sabrina

Today’s blog video features some fun scenes from Cy’s side of the building. In the first clip, you’ll see Lucky, Rayne, and Terry enjoying a gentle game of chase that ends with playful tickling. The second clip shows Gordo and Honey B grooming and playing in their room, which we filled with paper as an enrichment activity. We hope the good vibes keep coming with Cy’s group!

Well, at the very least, this reintegraton has given Gordito a new friend. It will be interesting to see who Miss Bee sides with in the next kerfluffle.

Sabrina, are they still separated from the other 7? You mentioned “their” room.

Oh my, that is one heck of a lot of paper for someone to clean up tomorrow. i imagine the noise it makes adds to the enrichment of nest building.

Are Gordo and Honey B ever going to go back into the group? It seems like an awfully long time for them to be kept separated after everyone else has reintegrated.

Cindee. Thank you for asking! It has been a long stretch. We are making the decisions week by week based on the behaviors we are seeing. Willy B was reverting to old patterns, which gave us some pause. This last week it seemed that Terry founds some courage to not be as intimidated by Willy B, which was very positive, but we need to see if that continues. It really does take a long time to form (or reform) relationships and to break old patterns, so we don’t want to rush it. The upside is Gordo and Honey B have been relaxed and happy rather than anxious from being separated. And they have quite a lot of interaction even though they are not sharing the same spaces.

Well that’s one funny opening act! Love the way all three line up and march forward! And Gordo is itching to engage Honey B in some play. She seems to playing hard to get.

She seemed to have reached her max extroversion for that morning
