In today’s video, watch as Honey B explores her group’s outdoor habitat, the Bray! She seems to be gaining confidence in exploring this large outdoor space every day, and it is wonderful to watch.

Dear, sweet Annie! So wonderful of her to be concerned for Beezie, even though she wasn’t a fan of Honey B’s “play style”!
I love seeing these chimps when they show such loving, positive concern for one another. All 3 today deserve at least a high-five. (From my perspective, Annie looked rather close to the electric fence, too, or am I over-cautious?)
It is heartening to witness Honey B. display confidence (or, at the least, merely “display”) on her acreage. And yes, these are beautiful photographs…somehow, they convey Ms. B’s confidence, and she looks robust and healthy in being outdoors.

Looks like Honey B has conquered the Bray and her fears. Unbelievable seeing her so far up the hill! Thanks for pointing out the many reasons that make this outing so positive. Turning 50 made Annie very mature and concerned for her neighbors. ;).
I wasn’t aware Honey B was still going out on the Bray. So this video was a delightful surprise. And Mave? Have you spotted her out and about on the cams? And…..Dora?! Is there any chance little D has ventured out to be with her Girl Gang?
And the photos are amazing. I didn’t recognize Honey B! She looks so big, and beautiful and wild.
Annie is such a sweet and empathetic soul. She knew that Honey B wasn’t as used to the outside and was worried she’d touch the fence. Annie’s kindness and sweetness never ceases to amaze me!
And Miss Honey B Queen of the Bray!!! Look at that girl getting used to the outdoors! Even doing a little display to show she’s boss! How long before she descovers the joy of letting loose and running as fast as she can like her momma, Missy?
The thought of Honey B running like Missy is thrilling! Such a different experience to run outside, as fast as you can, with no walls to stop you. I hope the cams capture that, too.
I’m not sure if this is ever had a blog post but I would be really interested to see a kind of lexicon of facial expressions and vocalizations the chimps use. For instance, at the very beginning of this video Honey B was vocalizing (the comment was she was proclaiming herself Queen of the Bray!) but then she suddenly stopped and just sat down. Why did she suddenly stop?
