Gather Around the Gatorade Pool

July 3, 2024 by Kelsi

Everything fun happens around the watering hole or should I say, Gatorade pool! The chimps had a nice, quiet, and relaxing day. I think they may be resting up for the big fourth of July celebration tomorrow! Make sure to tune in for all the fun tomorrow!

Before I go, here are some bonus photos 🙂

Do adult chimpanzees play with each other in the wild1?

I have often wondered the same thing. whether they have time to, because they have to work harder for their food, or whether they just don’t

      Yes, they will!

Thank you! You’d think, with all of the nature documentaries made, we’d have seen it by now. Regardless, we get to see it up close by tuning in here!

I had to smile at the 2 girls at the gatorade bar, I mean pool. One drink was enough for Missy. They looked so cute.

Why is it called a gatorade pool?

Because they pour Gatorade and water into a pool:grin:

oh, no! Neggie with a pudding cup?! Sounds like medicine…is she ok?

Since people in the neighborhood are beginning early tonight, I’m wondering….does anyone near the sanctuary set off fireworks, and if so, what do the chimps think of them? Probably nothing good….
Or if not, have they ever seen them on tv or video?

Yes, Negra is ok! She is on some meds to help with pain management and she really enjoys her pudding cups. 🙂 I’m not sure myself if our neighbors here have set off fireworks, but we are often under a fire ban and so fireworks are restricted.

I wonder what they would think of them if they saw them on tv

Thank you Kelsi. What a fun video. Love the ladies enjoying the gatorade pool:) It’s funny that Burrito seems to like play biting Negra’s head!
Those are wondeful pictures too. We’re excited to see tomorrow’s festivities!!

    Dear Burrito,

You are a gift! I just wanted to let my favorite happy-go-lucky guy know that it brings me great joy to see you and your pal Neggie playing and tumbling and leg grabbing and giving head nuggies and having bottomless fun! Thank you for helping Negra age in reverse.

    Much love to you always,
    Kathleen

Kelsi, please share my letter with the Maestro of Fun.

Jamie and Missy sipping around the Gatorade Pool with their personal sippy tools was classic. Jamie starts off with her teeny tiny teacup but ends with large cup. Does the cup get larger as temperatures rise? Both bosses looked very serious about their imbibing! And those photos of Mave are beautiful—Floofy Mave is beautiful! And…..Pudding Cups?! Yummy.

Boss lady Jamie and her pal Missy are as stoic as usual while enjoying their gatorade pool, but I see even Negra can’t resist Burrito’s playful charms!
