Some may know Chicago as the “Windy City”, but if you’ve ever visited or lived in central Washington, you know Cle Elum or Ellensburg could also be in the running for that title too! Central Washington is the windiest place I’ve ever been. In many of today’s clips, you can hear the wind ripping behind us and even see Annie’s hair blowing. Despite it being so windy, it was an absolutely beautiful day with the high being in the 70’s. It is supposed to get in the 90’s next week so we’re enjoying the cool wind while we can! Don’t forget to watch today’s video (above), there’s a play session of Jamie and Foxie in there that’ll make your heart burst.
Some photos of the day!
Annie’s proper form for her “bird noises” (so you can practice at home if you want):

Heart melting session, thank you for starting my day with that. I always wonder how Foxie gets her dolls to stay on ner back?

Jenna, I really enjoyed the video and that sweet play session between Jamie and Foxie. The photo’s were wonderful too, I always feel so sad when I see Foxie with a doll riding on her back when under different circumstances it could have been her baby. Sigh!

Happiness is a new doll!
Annie’s nest was looking comfy! It was interesting to see how she used her toes to gather and smooth!
Enjoy the sunny breezy days! Nothing like them!
Thanks, Jenna!

By the Way….Do the “Well Loved Doll ” a Favor .. Give her some Dignity…Throw on a T shirt and Twist a French Braid:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

That video was simply divine from start to finish! Sweet Annie meticulously trying to get her nest just right and then there’s Burrito in the background hamming it up. What is it about him that just makes me laugh the minute his little face peaks into the frame of the camera.
Jamie and Foxie! That might be one of the best play sessions ever. The two of them on the barrel together, embracing and giggling, most certainly did cause my heart to burst with joy. I also had a chuckle seeing Queen Negra in her “summer nest”. Shocking to see her without a dozen blankets beneath her and at least one covering her entirely. You can tell it’s summer! Negra was clearly enjoying the breeze.
Oh, and thanks for the comparison on Foxie’s Strawberry Shortcake dolls! I’m so used to seeing her dolls, naked with frazzled hair that I forgot what they really look like at the start.

I guess we’ve come a long way from “Neggie who hates the wind and needs a cabin” to “Neggie can nest outside and climb the hill on a breezy day.”

Brr windy Cle Elum indeed and not only could you hear that wind ( it always amazes me that I’m here in Sydney hearing the wind blow in Cle Elum!).but I could see those bushes blowing outside the chimps enclosure. No wonder Annie was getting herself snuggled in her nest (not sure about that paper nest for warmth). A beautiful video and very touching to see the love between Jamie and Foxie. It may be cold outside but there’s so much love, fun and laughter inside..I hope you humans chimps are also keeping warm.

And Annie Bird’s bird noises were wafted away on the summer breeze….I wonder where they landed?
Susan Kathleen Feeley says
Maybe Sydney,Australia (a very sweet thought).

How is it possible for all of CSNW’s residents to be so gosh darn endearing?!?!
I loved seeing sweet Annie getting her nest just perfect. Meanwhile, Burrito’s just being silly in the background. Also! That Jamie and Foxie play session (and the Missy, Annie, and Burrito one, too) was just amazing! I love seeing them goof around as they should.

ADORABLE HUGGING BY JAIMIE. GREAT CLOSE-UPS OF BURRITO’S “PUNIM” WHICH IS YIDDISH FOR FACE. AND, I AGREE WITH CAROL R.: HOW DOES FOXIE GET HER DOLLS TO STAY ON HER BACK?

BY THE WAY, AS A CHICAGOAN, I NEED TO CORRECT MOST PEOPLE’S IMPRESSION THAT CHICAGO’S BEING CALLED THE “WINDY CITY” IS BASED ON HOW COLD IT GETS HERE. IT STEMS FROM A CENTURY OR, MORE, AGO, WHEN THE TERM WAS USED TO DESCRIBE OUR, BLOW-HARD, POLITICIANS WHO ENGAGED IN, LOUD, RANTINGS!
