This day of sanctuary is “Part II” of yesterday’s really lovely sponsorship from Lisa Nowak. Yesterday, Lisa’s sponsorship was in celebration of the blog and its writers and today, is in celebration of you, our wonderful readers!
From Lisa’s kind heart:
“To all my fellow daily blog readers that share my passion of this blog, the chimps, bovines, and caregivers. Even though I am not a commenter, I love reading all the comments and feel like I have come to know a small part of the daily readers/commenters. I know your favorite chimps, I value your observations, humor and insights as well. I always look for Tobin and Kathleen’s comments. They add one more special aspect to this blog. I feel there is a comradery amongst the daily blog readers’ appreciation of this blog.”
It’s such a joy and a privilege to be able to share the chimpanzees’ and bovines’ lives with you. We’re so humbled and grateful for your loyal following and the community you’ve created always makes us smile. We appreciate you being here with us more than you know.

Having started my journey with the CSNW since the beginning of the pandemic, I want to express my great appreciation for the opportunity of being a small part of this family. The blog, photos, videos are the first thing I read to start the day with laughter, wisdom, caring, love and such great stories to share with my husband. Thanks to all for everything you do!!

Thanks again, Lisa.
Linda C says
Thank you twice, Lisa! for sharing the bounty with our favorite chimpy people!
Go ahead…guess my favorite! 🙂
Lisa says
Hmmm  Have you stated your favorite chimp? I don’t recall? I’m going to guess Negra or Annie.
Linda C says
I love them all! Annie is so pretty, and I love to root for the underdog. I don’t know if I’ve ever said my fav, but I think staff knows who it is!

Btw, yesterday, a vlogger called Slogger Vlogger, who mainly films the great apes of Twycross Zoo in London, filmed Jambo, making like Bat Jamie or Bat Foxie…..except that while he was hanging upside down, he was eating lettuce! Cool party trick, Jambo!
Kathleen says
Not just one Sponsor A Day, two Sponsor A Day tributes! You are so thoughtful, Lisa. Thank you for helping the residents of the sanctuary by acknowledging this community of loyal followers of everything CSNW.
It’s amazing that people from near and far, far away come together for 16 chimpanzees and 4 cows. I wish they knew how much we enjoy hearing about their day. I wish they knew how much love we hold within, just for them!
CarolR says
I totally agree Lisa…..what a wonderful family we belong to. It’s such a treat and a priviledge to to see what the chimpy people are up to every day, and I feel like I have dozens of regular friends in the caregivers and contributors too.
Just look at Nutmeg…..he’s enormous, especially obvious when standing next to his dainty Mum! When do the Moo Crew come in from their summer pasture?
Katelyn says
Hi Carol,
The cattle are already receiving supplemental feed as their pastures are largely drying up for the season, but as long as they can navigate things comfortably, they will most likely continue to have access to their summer pasture until the weather turns and they choose to spend more time near their barn.

You all have brought, and
continue to bring, such joy to all of us we did not know existed! Im not the best with words, but this an aspect of my life that fills my heart with such love and joy. I cant thank all if you enough for the care and love you provide the these chimps and bovines. you took them out of a horrible situation and put them in the best situation for the lives that they live. I can’t even imagine if you weren’t around where these chimps bovines would be.
Marya says
Thank you, Lisa, for your comments and ongoing support and love of the sanctuary and all its many beings! Today’s photos of Rayne and Cy both “reading” and of Jamie doing the same are just precious, but I think that every single thing the chimps do is worthy of appreciating. Well, maybe not the times that involved blood-letting or hitting, but luckily those are rare moments in the grand scheme of their lives. This community is so special, especially in times of challenge in the larger context of our personal lives and our country. I’m very grateful for the love, heartfelt support and care for the chimps, bovines and fabulous staff who love them so much.
Tobin says
I am humbled, Lisa, by your kind words. Thank you for sponsoring these two days of the sanctuary for our dear friends. If you are like me, I live them more every day. People like Nutmeg, Neggie, Nd Lucky (and the humans who care for them) are a sign of the Good in a fallen anthroposphere.
