Forage For Ages

March 29, 2022 by Chad de Bree

For the first time in what feels like forever, we have had some consistent sunny days with the temperatures in the 60s. A sunny day with slight overcast in 60º weather and the slightest of breezes are the perfect conditions for the first forage on Young’s Hill of 2022!

Aw, Chad, you can see in his eyes how much that guy loves you!
“you want me to drop my lunch and play chase, Chad?” 🙂

Agreed! When you make Burrito’s acquaintance, you have a friend for life.

Annie, Missy, Bubba, Foxie, Jody, Negra, Jamie all look so happy. Her Majesty looks redolent as she sits upon her throne of newly-risen green grass. And when Jody’s ears go in to elf-mode, you know that all is right in her world.

As a small child, I always wanted to be friends with an elf and with a chimpanzee. A half-century later, I became pals with both in Jody.

Chad, how is Negra doing? I know age eventually slows all of us down. My 14 year old dogs love nothing more than a good nap and another good nap after that.

I thought the same thing….but she’s up and out, foraging about. She has to hang on for another year and a half. JB says she’ll get real cake for her birthday next year!

Her expression in the middle picture is so endearing. She looks like a sweet cuddly grandmother. I didn’t know about the cake. Yay for milestone birthdays!

When I saw that photo of Burrito and his little yellow chair in my email, I actually gasped “Oh My God!” out loud. Burrito looks like a youngster. He’s too much. Seeing Negra in her usual place next to her tree stump table made me equally as happy. The whole gang looks very pleased to be foraging on Young’s Hill again.

Happy 1st forage of 2022 everyone.

Please keep coming back for the daily blogs, pics and videos! You will quickly get to know, and fall in love with, the 16 chimps, four bovines, Barn Kitty and the wildlife who call the sanctuary home. You will quickly come to admire the people who dedicate their time, love, and hard work to the well-being and happiness of these deserving beings. Can’t say enough good things about CSNW.
