Thank you, Marcus!

October 31, 2021 by Katelyn

Thanks to Marcus Andrews for sponsoring this day of sanctuary for the chimpanzees and bovines!

We so appreciate the chimpanzees being included in your lives, your celebrations and rememberings, your thoughts, and your hearts.

And! It’s finally here! It’s Jamieween! Stayed tuned as we prepare for one of the sanctuary’s biggest celebrations of the year, Jamie’s honorary (44th) birthday celebration!

Thanks again for adding to this special day, Marcus! We hope it’s a special one for you as well!

    Happy Birthday to the HCIC!
    Thank you, Marcus!
(2 of the photo captions are switched, but we can figure it out, because Foxie doesn’t look like Neggie!)

When I was a young kid we had a pomegranate tree on the side yard. we kids had a love/hate relationship with those pomegranates. we loved the fruit part, but They were a pain in the butt to get open, the fleshy white part was oh so bitter, but the worst was how much trouble we got in for staining our clothes. :unamused:

Must be a recent photo, Paulette, since Jamie’s newly heightened tolerance of Bubba.
My uncle grew grapes for Welch’s, the purple Concord grapes. A school friend lived on the farm next door. we’d ride the horses down the rows, riding low over the horses’ backs, popping up with a few grapes to whip at each other.

Mom was neither pleased nor entertained.

paulette I totally understand your love/hate relationship. I had a tree on the way to school. we’d wait for them to get low enough to swipe them then eat them for snack. Trouble usully hit the fan when I got home but it lasted until the next ones were ready to drop. : )
