We’re so thankful to Nancy and Jonathan Suttles for their generous gift of sponsoring a day of sanctuary in honor of our very own, Dr. Erin Zamzow!
“We are sponsoring a day for the chimps to honor Dr. Zamzow. She provided veterinary care for our beloved pittie, Portia, with the same dedication, compassion and wisdom that she provides to the chimpanzees & bovines. We are so thankful to have her in our community!”
Nancy and John, we understand completely what it means to have someone like Dr. Erin providing care for our friends and loved ones and are so glad she could be there with you and Portia. Thanks so much for honoring her today.
Dr. Erin and her medical colleagues have quite literally saved lives here at the sanctuary. More than once. We are profoundly grateful for the incredible compassion, professionalism, experience, dedication and sense of teamwork and community she brings to the sanctuary, and not only to her care of the chimpanzees and bovines, but to all the animals she provides care for. Not to mention her fellow human animals. 🙂

Lol, Honey B and Honey C!
Thanks, Dr Erin! I, too, had a great vet, who recognizes that our animals are part of the family. Just before my cat passed, I mentioned his name at a small dinner party, and a resounding chorus of praise went up. One guy said, “I want to go get a cat, just to work with him.”
Know that your work is much appreciated.
Bask in the love!

HOOTS-a-plenty for Dr Erin!

El Doctor is a often an unappreciated position in an organization UNTIL the troubles appear. At that moment, I have no idea what we would do without them. They are extremely well organized and prepared for their contribution in a split second to save a life, or simply apply a band-aide.

Such a great idea to honor Dr. Erin Zamzow. Thank you Dr. Erin for everything you do and everyone you help at CSNW! Look at Negra sitting still enjoying her special laser treatment, that’s trust. Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

BTW, I loved your comment “Our beautiful HCIC (Head Chimp in Charge), Jamie”! And I love that photo of Jamie too.

I suspect the vet is more important in most families than the MD or DO. And with good reason, especially here. We’ve lived through some of the issues where Dr. Erin has saved life and limn of our beloved chimp people, and I’m sure everyone is as grateful as I am.
The close-ups in this blog are wonderful!

The good health and beauty of the residents at CSNW is evidence of Dr. Erin’s love and expertise. Thank you Dr. Erin for your care of those we love so dearly.

My heart grieves when one of the residents of the Sanctuary has to undergo a
procedure in the clinic. During those events, however, my mind is confident in the
skills and knowledge which Dr. Erin applies to her duties, both inside as well as
outside of the clinic. The photograph of Negra allowing the veterinarian to treat her speaks volumes. The CSNW is fortunate beyond words to have not only a General Practitioner in the house, but, specifically, Dr. Zamzow (her mentor, Dr. Missy, continues her specialty practice in primate dermatology and podiatry).
