Kelsi and I were just talking about how difficult it is to come up with a new blog title each day now that we have published over 5,600 of them. Often times we are left starting blankly at the screen long after the workday ends, with all but the title completed. Quiet Moments…hmmm, have I used that one before? Photos of the Day? Happenings? I don’t know, but it’s getting awfully dark outside…
Of course, some of our staff have been seduced into the dark world of pun titles. Anthony and Chad are too far gone now to be saved. Sadly, they are intent on bringing Sam down with them, though I still have hope for her.
In any event, here are some photos of quiet moments and happenings that I took today.

Why, Jamie, is that a WHOLE apple or peach!? You lucky woman, you!
I was thinking of Willy B and his “stories” yesterday, as I saw a video about a cat obsessed with a certain movie…not related to this blog at all, but thought I’d pass it on…
Don’t let them take Sam, too! š
JB, we’re happy with pics like this, particularly the beautiful Annie-doesn’t she also have a birthday coming soon, after Tiny’s?
You guys always make us feel like we were there, and after the last 2 years, you guys must be thrilled to have quiet days.
That being said, and knowing how Kelsi likes games, I’m still up for games:
1. Senior Superlatives: with the seniors (7) come up with a list of “most likely to’s”, and see if we can guess who you’re talking about.
2. The same game you played with the cows, but with the 7 and the 3’s eyes. Or brow ridges. Or mouths. Or silhouettes up on the hill.
3. “Whose nest is this?” The other day, I realized I don’t think I’ve ever seen an “Annie nest”. What does that look like?
Or does each chimp seem to have a fav besides you and Diana? What do they do to communicate that?
No fair doing any of these with the new 6 yet!

I agree fullheartedly ( is that a word??)
I would be happy with photo’s and a couple of words to explain who, what and where.

Sometimes words arenāt necessary-the pictures say it all. Thanks to the 16 and their caregivers who brighten a day?????

While I always enjoy the anecdotal blogs, I have also looked forward to the
educational posts. Learning more about chimp cognition, culture, relationships,
specific ways of communicating with each other and with the humans and other
related issues appeals to my amateur primatology interests.
Thanks for all you do and for letting us share your human, non-human and bovine people.
Regards,
Jane

Titles – who needs ’em! You can call them Brain Freeze and we’ll know why and not care in the least, lol. We just love being able to see all of these amazing beings living their best lives. I look forward to these blogs every evening. Thanks to all of you for all you do.

Hi J.B., I know you know you could title a blog post anything, I mean a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g at all because weāre here for your stories, updates, insights, photos, and videos, and did I mention photos?! (But I will confess to enjoying a good pun or turn of phrase for a title and I totally cracked up when Sam dove right over to the dark side from the very start!) so with that said, this is a perfect title. Who cares or remembers if it was used before. Todays photos are incredible, especially the close ups. Great shots of dear Annie. And that one image of Burrito perched high surveying his hill, itās just beautiful. And funny to see Burrito looking so serious in each photo!
Thank you!

Over the past 4.5 years that I have followed this blog (that is to say, the previous
4.5 years of living amidst the malevolent pandemonium that is peculiar to the American
anthroposphere), being able to read the daily postings on the CSNW website has
provided a literal lifeline to me. The photographs and videos of those who live on and adjacent to Young’s Hill have offered proof of Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe. My heartfelt gratitude to all of you who provide words and graphics every day…you are my “Most Trusted Name in News.”

I second this!! Well said (as always) Tobin.

After a long day of giving the best care to amazing chimps,I think you should all what yourselves off the hook and just use the date as the blog title ?
Bill says
I think the blog is very enjoyable but I think it’s too much to ask the CSNW crew to have to generate one every day. Their work load has increased and it’s probably the last thing they want to do or should have to do at the end of the day is a blog. Until your routine gets more established I’d say a blog every other day is fine with me.
