Did you know we have an Enrichment Database? We love sharing enrichment ideas like these Firehose Cubes with our fellow caregivers around the world. Feel free to spread the word about our database and know that we are always looking for any new chimp enrichment inspiration from other organizations!

She is so cute, I could watch the queen eat lettuce all day long 🙂

What a great video; I could listen to her chew all day long and she’s obviously very pleased with her enrichment cube. I’m surprised she didn’t have the whole thing taken apart in shreds looking for more lettuce! Thank you for this visual and audio treat!

Negra is beautiful and it’s wonderful to see her enjoying her enrichment so much. Love this video. Thank you.

Maybe I’m just a simpleton, but Neggie & I share something beyond our DNA…When she discovered the lettuce snack (packed deeply inside her enrichment box) & then (almost impatiently) started pulling out handfuls of it at a time, & then very eagerly started stuffing her mouth full…Well Well…That reminded me of myself since anytime I have to start wresting with a bag of my own snacks…Just to tear open the bag…Then, I’m so relieved when it’s finally torn open, that I begin eagerly stuffing MY own hand into it, & pulling out handfuls at a time…HaHa
I just think Queen Neggie is just perfect in every way… : )

Gee, have I ever mentioned that I simply love Negra to the ends of the earth and back again. : )
Debi described it perfectly, Negra almost frenetically pulling out fistfuls of her favorite lettuce, you could feel her excitement. So funny in the end when she kept looking in all the pockets for more. And I was cracking up as food came tumbling down from the sky……almost distracting Negra from her lettuce.
Those firehose cubes are the coolest. I enjoy looking at your enrichment ideas because some items could easily transition to shelter enrichment items. But the firehose cubes might be my favorite (they also look like Charles Eames bentwood end tables to me. Slip your magazines into the sides! Sorry, I digress.)
Thank you Anna for catching the Queen enjoying every bite of her bedtime enrichment. This video served as my bedtime enrichment and I enjoyed every second of it, three times over!

It just dawned on me, I could never live up to my dream of being caregiver at CSNW. And it’s not the never ending backbreaking work that would deter me. Nor would it be the effort needed to achieve all the credentials. It would be the chimps themselves who would be my undoing! After watching this video of my beloved Negra it became all too clear —once Negra finished her lettuce I would want to serve her another head. : )
Haa haa haa! My desire to spoil the chimps would be overwhelming. (Just as it is at the shelter where I volunteer.) sigh….
