The Sentry

April 24, 2019 by Anna

If you feel like you’re being watched when you arrive at the sanctuary, it’s because you definitely are. No one is more on the alert than Jamie Chimpanzee. She knows when the UPS truck has arrived (long before we hear the doorbell ring). She knows when someone is feeding the cows on the neighboring property, and she definitely knows when we have welders arrive whose boots haven’t been properly inspected by her yet.

    lol, “Boots!?!?! Lemme at ’em!”
I like that she doesn’t discriminate….of course, her favs are cowboy boots, as they should be…..cowboy boots have a heel that makes you strut, work boots are heavy and make you shuffle. Cowboy boots are sometimes flashy and fancy, with different colors and designs, workboots are mostly one color. But in a pinch, she’ll take any boots she can get! 😀

Oh, those watching eyes…I have the feeling she’s watching me here as I eat my soup!

Well? You can’t just leave us hanging, how did Jamie’s boot inspection go?! I hope the welders had a walk around the property with Jamie (on the other side of the fencing of course).

Oh, Kathleen, reading your post brought a flash of a scary image to my mind…….Jamie with a blowtorch…….I had to shut it down before it went in a million different directions! 😀

How I love that discerning look on Miss Jamie’s face…It’s like a combination of peacefulness & seriousness at the same time, but still, we know she’s on the cautious lookout for signs of any “trouble” that could be rolling down HER drive…s m i l e s
Seriously, I think to gaze into those beautiful (transcendental looking) eyes would be like suddenly understanding & feeling the meaningfulness of Life & the troubles of the World …What a mighty powerful experience that would be…
