I love how expressive chimpanzees are. In their emotions, gestures, movements, vocalizations and facial expressions they communicate exactly how they are feeling every moment with a complete lack of self consciousness or pretense. I am mesmerized when watching the chimpanzees and studying their individual characteristics (I just realized today that Jamie has adorable freckles in her ears!) And here are two amazing faces I never tire of looking at, whether funny or just plain beautiful.
Funny Foxie (while this looks a little fierce, she is actually yawning):
Foxie just being her beautiful self.
Funny Annie with a mouth full of water:

Foxie always cracks me up. She looks exactly like my “father in law”. So funny!

They all make me crack up but especially love Annie and her mouth full of water. LOL I’ve know some Chimps (like Hondo may he rest in peace) to spit water at me while volunteering at the North Carolina Zoo, do you think Annie would ever do it?
Katelyn says
Hi Cody!
During a couple of rare play sessions with Annie she has playfully “gleeked” water at me, but spitting is not typically her style. Foxie more frequently spits small amounts of water or saliva at us when she is playing, or less so, when she doesn’t like something. But Burrito, Jody, and sometimes, Jamie, are more likely to spit mouthfuls of water with incredible accuracy when they want to express their feelings about something we are doing.

Love you girls!
