Solitary play

December 30, 2010 by Elizabeth

We try to plan themed enrichment days to keep us creative, and today was troll scarf day. We tied lots of trolls to lots of scarves. Jamie likes to wear these troll scarves around her neck, but Foxie prefers to drag them around with her. Here’s what Foxie did with one of the scarves we put out this morning:

I love this! When I think of how withdrawn Foxie was when she came to the sanctuary to this video of her clearly blissed out, wiggly those Foxie toes and covering herself in trolls as she smiles, I cannot think of anything more heartwarming. Except, of course, the other chimps engaged in their own unique chimp-isms. And I loved those splits while holding a troll in each foot!! I don’t know….this could be the next exercise sensation…Pilates with Trolls. Trollates??

She just cracks me up. I really don’t know how any of you get any work done with that girl displaying her silly antics all day!!

Monica, it’s very hard to get anything done someday’s. I find myself just standing and watching the CE7 when I really should be doing something, but then I think, I am doing something, I’m watching the most amazing beings that I have had the honor of knowing.

Another great LOL Foxie video! When she kept throwing the scarves/dolls from her hands to her feet, hands to her feet and then put them in her hands AND her feet I nearly split my spleen from laughing so hard! I loved every painful 2nd of it!!

Foxie is amazing. Plain and simple!! 🙂

oh, I just <3 Foxie's feet! I could watch a video montage of her sweet expressive feet all day long – especially the soles of her feet when she curls them up against her belly – what a happy chimp! She is wonderful wonderful wonderful! Thanks everybody, for all you do for lovely Foxie and her sweet feet! a happy chimp is a joy to behold!!!! -K

Is one of the care givers dangling something down for her to reach for at the end or is it one of the other chimps?

THanks for sharing the videos of the chimps. My sister, Jeani, volunteers at the sanctuary and I hear about the chimps, but seeing them adds so much to the stories. Keep up the amazing work that you do and thank you being so committed to these animals that can’t speak for themselves.

Guitarist, Jimi Hendrix said it best, “Foxy(close enough) Lady…” I’m sure he would have changed his lyric, “cute lil heart beaker”, into “cute lil heart stealer… Foxie Lady.”
You are the sweetest Foxie… Happy New Year to you, Burrito, Annie, Jody, Missy, Jamie and Negra. And to all at CSNW :O
    Love and hugs,
    Harry
