Feeling Better

November 8, 2008 by J.B.

Burrito has been under the weather lately. Chimps are susceptible to most of the same bugs that make us sick, and its not uncommon for them to come down with colds or even a bad flu. And while we always consult our veterinarians and will often run lab tests just be to safe, all the chimps usually require is rest while the illness runs it’s course. And of course some saltines and ginger ale.

Thankfully, Burrito is feeling better now. Quite a relief, though I’m sure the girls enjoyed the temporary reprieve from his obnoxiousness. Now he’s banging, spitting, and causing fights again – our Burrito is back!

Awww, poor thing. It’s no fun being sick. Of course, YAY for the girls getting a little break. :o)

So glad to here he’s being a “boy” again, I was pretty worried for him.

I think this is a good reminder that if you are volenteering and are not feeling well you should opt out that day for the wellness of the group. Not to say Burrito got sick from a volenteer he could have got the “bug” anywhere but it’s better to be safe that sorry.

Keep your fingers crossed the girls don’t get the “bug” now.

I am so glad our boy is feeling better and back to being himself again. My fingers are crossed that the girls won’t catch it.

Oh dear Burrito. I know what it is like to have a bad cold/flu. I am so prone to them and they last for ever. Feel better dear one. I agree Denice, that those of us who volunteer should be careful not to carry bugs into the sanctuary.

Oh shoot, poor Burrito! I’m so glad he’s feeling better and so glad that it doesn’t seem to have spread to the ladies. Yes, very good reminder for volunteers about opting out if there are any chances of passing on a bug!
