Mave Conquers the Bray

March 16, 2026 by J.B.

I could tell that Mave was working up to something big. For months, she’d wait to catch my eye and then shuffle swiftly (this is Mave’s fastest speed) towards the Bray. And as soon as she’d exit the chute, she’d make a beeline straight up the hill. I would join her on the other side of the fence, but to be honest, I’d kind of given up on the idea that she’d make it to the top. She just couldn’t get past that one spot.

But never underestimate Mave, or any chimpanzee for that matter. Maybe now she’ll teach her friend, Dora, to appreciate all the Bray has to offer.

Gordo Making Decisions on a Blustery Bray Day

March 2, 2025 by Diana

Today’s video is mostly about Gordo, but doesn’t Cy look great out there! These chimpanzees from California are getting used the Central Washington weather little by little.

Did you have a fake spring day today too? If so, I hope you got out there like Gordo.

Go Annie!

September 24, 2011 by Diana

Annie followed Missy right out this morning and made it to a couple of the climbing structures.

and Missy showed Annie the greatness of the hammock

Annie didn’t quite make it over to the gate to get breakfast served outside before she decided to go back in, but we had breakfast for her there too.
