Creative Nest-Building with Honey B

November 10, 2023 by Jenna

This morning, I caught Honey B in the Mezzanine nesting. She managed to use every enrichment item she had access to in her process, which cracked me up. My personal favorite part of this video (featured above) is when she grabs the green sweatband and stretches it for no reason, before she places it beside her. Honey B is a funny gal, that’s for sure.

And…

Today is Honey Cow’s 16th Birthday! The cattle will all be receiving some special treats today for Honey’s day!

Oh, Honey B and Honey Cow!! Both gorgeous in their own ways. Just looking at Honey Cow’s soulful eyes makes me swoon, and that Honey B woman — well, what can we say? Nest-builder Supreme in all her adorable moves and choices. I laughed out loud about her supreme investment in what she was doing to make it all “just right!” Thanks for these great images — brightened my day by 1,000%!!

Honey B is such a character. She clearly takes her nesting very seriously and I appreciate her maximalist approach. Sweet Terey sitting oblivious to the pomegranate seeds being dropped on his head is also just too cute!
And of course, happy birthday to Honey Cow!!!! Hope it’s filled with many treats and scratches.

First, let’s talk about the birthday girl and her party! Special treats, yes please! That first photo, the close up, just lovely. Her coloring is gorgeous. Happy 16th dear Honey.

Now for Honey #2. Nest = One mostly ignored sheet, a cup, a clothespin (?!), a box, random pages, lots of colorful tickets, one green still-stretchy headband :), a stylish scarf, one block. So. I see a ton of joy in that nest but honestly, Honey B needs more COMFORT. We all need to hurry over to the Comfort & Joy auction and bid on the Rayne and Honey B sheet! Quick!!

Wow, two adorable Honey ladies and I can see Honey cow looking very regal with her bovine buddies. I also loved the spectacular backdrop up on the hill. And, yes we could learn a thing or two about Honey B and her creative nest making. Have fun and a very happy birthday to Honey cow with loads of treats for all.

Had to watch this video again this morning with my cup of coffee. Honeybee is a marvel. But, the pomegranate seeds dropping on Terry’s head is one of the funniest things yet. He hardly flinches. Perhaps he was considering saving the seeds for later?! (Do any of the chimps eat the seeds?) Terry is such a sweet fellow.
