Identifying Lucky

November 9, 2023 by Anna

It’s been a couple of weeks but it’s time to revisit my series on identifying the Lucky 6! In case you missed them, be sure to visit my prior blogs on identifying Cy, Gordo, Dora and Rayne. Today it’s time to highlight Lucky! Like her brother Cy, Lucky has a prominent brow ridge. She also has a few pink freckles on the inside of her ears and on her eyelids. She has a bit of a wrinkly belly with wiry hair on her shoulders. After you watch the above video, what features might you use to identify Lucky?

For me it’s her closed mouth face that is very distinctive. She has a beautiful smile and as I’ve said before, she is the prettiest of all the female chimpanzees I have seen. She could definitely be a fraternal twin to Cy, they look so much alike.

I have a super big soft spot for Lucky. I had no idea that she has a few pink freckles on the inside of her ears and on her eyelids and she has a bit of a wrinkly belly!! Now I’m over the moon for Lucky.

I spot her sometimes just by the sweetness of her facial expression. And her big beautiful ears.

And do I see a little nip out of her left ear in that portrait of her? 🙂

Are Lucky’s legs somewhat bowed? I suppose that is one way to identify her. Failing that, there is always her brother Cy: If someone looks very much like Cy, but is someone else, it seems that it is highly likely that it is Lady Lucky.

    Oh, and her play face…beautiful!

Beautiful portrait of Lucky to lead off the blog! Can’t take my eyes off her.

From far away, it’s hard. Her straight-backed posture reminds me of Jamie a bit.
Up close, the hair on the shoulders, like Foxie, and she’s “Annie pretty”, which as Anthony said, is a special kind of pretty.

Yes! Lucky is “Annie pretty”. Exactly!

It’s too difficult to see her wrinkly belly on my phone but I do like the coarse, wavy hair on her shoulders. Lucky is a looker!

Lucky and Cy are such a handsome pair of siblings. I didn’t realize she has freckles on her eyelids. Just like Honey B! They are half-sisters, after all.
