Back in the chute!

November 3, 2022 by Anna

Today Cy’s group got access back to the outdoor chute. After a few months of construction, the chute has received some new and improved space and connections. This chute will eventually be the portal that leads to The Bray outdoor enclosure (currently being built). For now though, it’s a popular hangout where the 2 groups of chimpanzees can check in on each other. Even after the initial excitement dies down, this visual connection is quite enriching!

Wow wee wow… Thats a lot of trash talkin !
So funny when Jamie just takes off walking, and I love little Dora’s face at the end, she always looks so sweet and innocent. All these videos are so great, Thank you for taking the time to share. :revolving_hearts:

Lol, you know you’ve been following a while when you can identify Foxie’s, um, “reactions”.
Annir sticking close to Missy, as per usual.
Cy and Jamie, as leaders should, right out front and in charge. Was surprised to see Burrito talking all that smack! 🙂 The new group definitely looks formidable, with all of those big guys! And Jo right at the window, happy to see those big men again!

Was that Mave, waiting at the chute entrance for the last person to come out? Kind of her. Who was lollygagging?

I hope Cy’s confidence will, along with Willy B, lead the group right outside.
Your place of work just got more interesting…and noisier!

Gadzooks! I gotta watch this 10 more times. With all the commotion, hoot faces and bark faces, I am finding it hard to figure out who’s who (exceptions being Missy and Burrito!)….plus I am laughing so hard it’s hard to focus. Am I wrong or did I spot Negra talking smack through the windows?! Wow! That was some prime excitement for Jamie’s group.

One question, Anna. I am curious, there is someone who appears to hold back and not enter the chute. Who decided to stay behind? Did they eventually go out or are they waiting for a more relaxing day to give it a try? 🙂

I’ve watched it 2x already! Yeah, I think that is Neggie talking smack, upper right window, unless I’m mistaken. Even Neggie got out of bed for that!

I feel like Beezus was the one who didn’t go out, but I could be wrong. The angle when they first go out makes it hard to see all, and I still can’t identify the members of this group the way I can the 7, from a angles.
I’m still laughing at Foxie following Jamie on that 1/4 patrol, screaming all the way! 🙂

Mave was a slower and Honey B came out a little bit later.

 Now that was FUN to watch! and I will again and again. I’m so proud that I’ve been here long enough to ID nearly all of them! As exciting and stressful as it may be for them, I’m so so very happy for them that they are on their way to their best life To include a new outdoor space. The chute is a good introduction and I’m hoping that safety in numbers will get Mave and Beezy outdoors. Can’t wait! Giddy with excitement! Eeeek!
OK – gonna go watch all that smack talk again. :joy:
