Mave in the mirror

August 6, 2020 by Anna

The chimps are endlessly observant of things that us lowly humans fail to notice.  Today, as I took a few photos of Mave using the sanctuary’s cell phone, she got that certain look in her eye and i realized she was examining her own reflection in the back of our new transparent phone case.

The lovely and eagle-eyed Mave:

Mave is beautiful and smart. Those are wonderful pictures of her. And speaking of beautiful chimps, I received my Negra sunflower pillowcase yesterday from the Queen’s brunch. It is so soft and the photo is gorgeous. Love it!!! Thank you

This reminds me that I still have not received my boxy cover. I thought I got a message saying that it shipped weeks ago

I love the pic of her pondering w/ her finger on her lip! Looks like she’s in heavy contemplation. Just wonderful!

An embarrassing admission…My son recently gave me an iPhone…My first cellular phone EVER…It appears I’m simply not smart enough to figure out how to efficiently use it for it to be practical…

It just occurred to me…That any one of the ten beloved chimp people, could actually teach me how to operate my phone…Also, my fingers are like “giant toes” every time I attempt to type out a text…they seem to usually all end up “gobbedy-gook”…like
“h- t- v-q-k-l-o-z” instead of spelling some some common word like “coffee” or “accurate”… HaHaHa

Mave always fascinates me…(Just like the other nine) : )

The key to perfect Mave portraits : transparent phone case! (I wonder if Annie Leibovitz knows about this?!) These are just the best photos of super model Mave. Thanks for sharing them. xoxoxo

I love the fact that she recognized her movements matched the image she was looking at. I wonder if she recognizes herself?

Chimpanzees and orangutans can. That’s why she’s checking out her teeth
