Annie on Mt. St. Helens

March 29, 2012 by Debbie

As mentioned on the blog before, the folks that created the treat rock on Young’s Hill had some concrete left over, so they made a little replica of Mt. St. Helens. Foxie and Jody have both explored around the replica, but it also seems to be a nice little perch. Here’s a picture taken the other day of Annie sitting on top of the mountain:

That rigth, Annie is Queen of the Hill !!

Actually, I noticed that Chimps like to sit up high on mounts ,, every sanctuary has them ,, at Save the Chimps, Ive viewed the same , especially, from chimps whom never touched grass before, as soon as they couragously venture outside, it never fails, someone, ends up on the mount, usually the top chimps , ie Jamie,, also sat way up high on Youngs Hill on the first time outside,, amazing, it does give them the added vantage point , and leverage above all else. even in the wild, the Leaders, tend to sit up high on some sort of mount,
Lovely to see them all becomiong closer and truer to thier natural selves.. CSNW roks,,and the Chimps Rule.

Annie looks so beautiful! I love looking at her hand. It is so long and graceful.
