Foxie on the hill looking at camera

Foxie’s Day Out

October 29, 2011 by Diana

Do not adjust your screens, these are photos of Foxie all over the hill today!

Foxie on the hill looking at camera

Here she is on top of a climbing structure on the hill  – a first for Foxie! It’s the climbing structure closest to the raceway. She went up there to retrieve a troll doll initially but went back several times during the day.

Foxie carefully bringing her trolls back down from the structure:

The crew that put the concrete on the treat rock had a bit leftover, so they made a replica of Mt St. Helens. Foxie’s touring by the site here:

Missy (left) was pretty excited to have Foxie on the hill.

Foxie-girl, I’m so happy for you because I know it took a lot of courage for you to go out onto the hill today. How scary for her, but she took her time and when she was ready, out she went. Was the troll left on the platform by the staff? I loved seeing her surrounded by the grass and taking a moment to take in the view. I wonder if Missy did her jumping-up-and-down “I’m excited” dance for Foxie, I know I did.

Candy – Missy did jump up and down in an excited greeting to Foxie. I discovered the troll doll on the structure when we were in there picking up. I moved in closer to the front of the structure and stood him up so he was more visible. We’ve said previously that we didn’t want to stress Foxie out by leaving troll dolls within view but farther out than Foxie was comfortable going. So, it was actually a decision I contemplated for a while. I decided to do it because she’s been gaining more and more confidence each day and I thought she was ready to go out that far and because I suspected she knew it was up there previously anyway. I’m glad it worked out!

Good gosh…. this is exciting. It has taken her a month to get the courage up to venture out more that 20 to 30 feet from the raceway door. Each time a little bit farther and less anxious until a break through. A transformation right before our eyes…..

Hmm, wonder how the troll got all the way out on the hill on the platform? I’m very happy to see Foxie growing comfortable with the idea of all that open space, Way to go gal!

Ah, putting the troll doll on her back just like a mother chimp would put her baby on her back. That’s too cute! Thanks for the great pics!

I know I’m “a day late & a dollar short” in commenting here, but do want to say thans you for posting these photos, and that last one with the troll baby on her back is priceless. Now maybe I should study on making some kind of troll satchel for Foxie to haul her plastic buddies around in 🙂 !
