Longtime supporter Monica Best created the holiday Love a Chimpanzee Day many years ago to celebrate chimpanzees far and wide. This year we celebrated with fresh tropical fruit and fun enrichment items like sand, brand new blankets and fun novel socks.

I love the 17 chimpeople who have been given a home in the Cascade Mountains. And, I can only admire Willy B’s creative use of the sandbox and its contents.
He must have seen a video on ‘how to grind corn the oldfashion-way’……..

Seeing Willy B’s coat gleaming reminds me just how far they have all come with the fantastic care they get……great food, friends, and lots of enrichment, even if WillyB doesn’t quite understand the concept of a sand box!

Looks like a festive celebration! Amazing how good reading materials far exceed food treats when it comes to Cy. So sweet how delicately he handles his snacks and reading materials. I was thinking to my self as I watched Honey B working through her lettuce how cool the new sandbox looked,,,,,,,and then Willy B offered me a view of all sides, top to bottom! Willy decided why have a sandbox when you can enjoy a day at the beach. Wonderful seeing Annie and Missy. ?
