Negra doesn’t get around as much these days due to her declining mobility, but every day she still makes her way out to the greenhouse. Once there, she makes a cozy nest for naps and takes the time to look out onto Young’s Hill. From there she can feel the breeze and admire the sunshine and blue sky, while she enjoys her lunch at her own pace.
So here’s a glimpse into an afternoon with Neggie – captured in a series of photographs.
Is she still being kept separate from the rest of the group?
Yes, she sleeps in her own area, and members of her group rotate through for visits during the day.

That’s our girl! Beloved Neggie. She is amazing. Still enjoying her life best she can and with a nut bag in hand! Life is good. I’m not 100% certain but I’m 96-98% certain that from the greenhouse, Negra is keeping a close eye on the emerging spring greenery, closely calculating the growth in millimeters, waiting for the precise moment to venture outside and grab a handful of sweet spring grass!
Love you dear Negra. There’s a reason you are a queen. I bow down to you.
How is her appetite since she’s not moving around as before?
I bet she still is very fond of Hawaïan rolls…..
I am happy she gets to feel a breeze and the sun shining in to the greenhouse after years of being deprived of even the most basic once and needs. CSNW has given her the ability to live like the queen she is.
