Lately, in Central Washington, it has been cold and windy, the perfect weather conditions for continuously dry, chapped lips. Unfortunately, most of the chimps suffer from the same affliction so caregiver Kelsi brought in a coconut oil lip balm to give them some relief!

Maybe, it’s not such a, good, idea to exchabe saliva, and, potential, germs between the chimps?
Chimps are very physical. They often kiss and even pass food from mouth to mouth. I’ve even seen chimps take a piece of food right out of a friend’s mouth!
Teeny tiny Terry, what a character! he’s the best model for putting on the chapstick, and then 20 seconds after you apply it, he’s blowing it off with raspberries asking you to come back!:smile:

I had just mentioned on youtube, when someone asked if a particular zoo ever gives their orangutans oils for their hands, that you guys use coconut oil on Rayne’s forehead when it’s dry. and two seconds after they commented how kind that was, this popped up! So I spread the word. ?

I’m sure Rayne will be giving lessons in how to rub it in! Does Jamie still use her purses to keep her hairbrush and other stuff in…..maybe she would like a stick of her own to put in there.

Ha!! How thoughtful to treat the chimps to a special coconut lip balm spa treatment! You think of everything. And why wouldn’t you?! You know best that if you’re going to blow raspberries, you have to have supple soft lips. Once Terry got lubed up, he was ripping those raspberries!! Cy was the funniest. I felt like the Chapstick tickled his top lip when you were applying it. You can see how his lip quivers ever so slightly. Gordo doesn’t know what he’s missing and hopefully he came around. Coconut. Yummy.
