Peace and Quiet

June 20, 2025 by Ellen Brady-McGaughey 6 Comments

Working with chimpanzees is often a loud job. Whether it be pant hoots of excitement, loud foot stomps or banging during a display, food grunts and squeaks during a good meal, laughter during a bout of play, or even screaming during an altercation – things can get loud! The rarity of truly quiet moments just makes them all the more special. In today’s blog video, enjoy some moments of peace and quiet with the chimpanzees.

Here are some bonus photos from today!

Dora enjoys a sweet potato.

Willy B takes a nap.

A close up of Annie.

Terry enjoying a frozen pineapple top.

Little Dora and I have something in common, we both like to eat our sweet potatoes with the skin on. I really like the picture of Annie, she looks so pretty and its nice to know that your day was fairly peaceful and quiet..tomorrow, who knows!!

Is there anything cuter than sweet Terry with his pineapple top and lovely Annie with her peanut butter tube?!
Also Jamie and co grooming and just hanging out! What a beautiful scene.

Heavenly! Summertime makes everyone feel relaxed. Terry had quite the setup with his little bucket-pitcher to sip from and frozen pineapple tops! I never thought about it until now, do the chimps eat or wadge the leafy top of the pineapple?
