As Sabrina mentioned in yesterday’s blog, the weather has warmed up here, the sun is out, and we are thrilled about it! This warm weather has me dreaming of the day the panels come off of the greenhouses, and reminiscing on sweet moments shared with the chimpanzees last spring and summer. It is not quite warm enough to take down the panels yet, as they have an important job of retaining heat when we need to heat the greenhouses and the temperatures are not consistently warm enough yet to put away our winter heaters. In today’s blog video, I’m sharing videos I didn’t get a chance to share with you all last spring and summer of what we have to look forward to!
Spring was always my favorite season growing up, up north. Not so much now, living in Central Florida. Missy has eating tomatoes down to a practiced art!
As well as the Jedi mind tricks involved in getting a tomato on the sneak!
Thank you, Ellen, for reminding us of the glories of warm weather’s arrival. I love how that lovely :tomato: tomato was so gently worked in between the wires. Let’s all sing it: Let the sun shine, let the sun shine in, the sun shine in.:sun_with_face:
I’m guessing you are not alone, Sabrina, in wishing the greenhouse panels could come down now. Pretty sure there are 15 beautiful beating hearts yearning, just like you.
I loved your video. That Negra kiss was so precious! Lucky you. The sunlight on Annie’s perfect face…sigh. And you picking the most beautiful tomato, the exact size to be slightly squished through the caging, delighting Missy. Yum. Burrito being a little silly even when he’s chewing. Like all of the chimps, I enjoy their open air greenhouse meals most of all.

I, too, am eagerly anticipating the return of spring in all her glory!
I loved the videos of spring past! A kiss from the Queen is a great honor! Annie and Burrito look absolutely radiant enjoying the sun at mealtime! Of course, Missy is eagerly awaiting the return of tomato season! I feel like she’s the type to keep her excitement a little more hidden, but there’s no mistaking how excited tomatoes make her! I also wonder if Burrito (and Annie) will don any fashionable apparel this spring!
