Sometimes, the best enrichment is something simple!
Ellen happened upon Mave the other day, playing with a roll of purple raffle tickets. She eventually pulled them into her nest, naturally.
Please enjoy the video put together for us by Ellen!

Sweet wise Mave. “The secret to life is enjoying the passage of time. It’s just a lovely ride” (James Taylor) Mave has this secret mastered!
Thanks, Ellen and Krissy!
my money would have been on Honey B.
I hope the rest of Saturday continues as quietly for you!
Not to express partiality among the chimperterians who reside at CSNW, but I hope that after all her effort, Maeve emerged with the Golden (or, in this context, purple) ticket and the chance to visit Willy Wonka and the Oompaloomps.
Tobin, your comment makes me ask…. I wonder if the chimps have see the original Willy Wonka movie? And what would they think of it?!
Why do I have this gut feeling that the Oompa Loompa scenes would put Cy over the edge!
And Jamie would love seeing the kids suffer:laughing:
Interesting to see that Gordo stirring things up didn’t distract Mave from her enrichment activities. Those tickets were hers and hers alone! We humans can learn a grest deal about present moments and enjoying the simple things in life. A friend of mine was given a Christmas yoyo as a “stress buster”. You’re never too old to to learn to enjoy those simple pleasures.:heart:

Linda,
Have the Cle Eluminaires seen the original “‘Willy Wonka?”. That is a very good question. And would they be as amused as I was when I was taken to a Saturday matinee of the film as a 7-year-old? The 42-year-old parental guardian who escorted me to the theatre was APPALLED, but I laughed and laughed at the punishments meted out to the naughty children. I know that Jamie watched “the Wizard of Oz” while recuperating from a clinic visit, and I can speculate that she might take interest in the just sentence executed upon the likes of Veruca Salt.
Speaking of whom, I spent 18 years sharing a domicile with someone for whom the OompaLoomps sang about: “What do you do when you raise up a brat?/ Pampered and spoiled as a Siamese cat?…”
I must have missed the bit about the Wizard of Oz– I’m going to alert my friends that the day has finally arrived when my memory isn’t working perfectly! They’ve kind of been waiting for the day, I’m the “group guage”. Did they say if she enjoyed the flying monkeys or not? They always creeped me out a tiny bit. The Chimps might be a bit appalled at what happens to poor little Violet beauregard, since they enjoy Gum as much as she does! at least we seem to agree that it’s the original one with Gene wilder, and not the Johnny Depp one. I like johnny, but that version was just a bit too weird. I still haven’t seen the Timothé Chalamet one.
I saw the original, in 1971. I didn’t realize it at the time, but “Wonka” was the first good movie I had. yet seen in my life. I was forbidden to watch “Wizard of Oz” until I reached two digits on my birthdays. I didn’t see what the big whoopus was all about… after all, I lived in a town with a distinct Wizard of Oz vibe, complete with our vey own wicked witch who tooled around town on a three-wheeled bicycle screeching imprecations at Innocent bystanders.
I saw it when I was rather young, since I grew up in the midwest, and for some odd reason, they thought it was a good idea to play that film every year in April, the beginning of tornado season! I was surprised years later to find out that in Ireland, The Wizard of Oz is a “Christmas” film, because it plays every year at Christmas time. I made a friend from Germany watch Willy Wonka when he came for a visit. He didn’t like it at first, and then all of a sudden, he realized that it was Munich, where he had lived for a few years. Then he became very interested in it.
I am SOOOOO happy to see a whole blog about Mavis.
And she is doing well i can see that.
Is Dora still at the neighbors, or was that a day-play session??
