Yesterday caregiver Jenna found time in her day to decorate the chimps Christmas trees for them complete with lights, tiny stockings and ornaments. This morning we rolled in the Christmas tree for Jamie’s group to enjoy and right away Jamie found something she wanted.
Jamie immediately found a tool and began her quest to hook a tiny boot for herself! Join her on this journey in today’s blog video!

Oh, that Jamie!
Are rhey wooden? I looked at them and immediately thought, “aren’t they too small for them to have!?”
Alex says
janie can be persistent. just a thought, are the ornament big enough that they’re not choke hazards? Chimps like to put weird stuff in their mouths, much like toddlers.
Linda C says
You can see that she put it in her mouth immediately, which is why they took them away from her when they got a moment.

Of course, she tried to snag a cute boot. Oh, the frustration of that yellow line safety zone. My, they are tinier than trolls. She’s a smart cookie and knew they weren’t an edible Christmas treat.

I love that all we could see was the white plastic tube sticking out from the wall! Jamie was determined to snag that boot closest to her. Negra, perched up on high in her Queenly Room, wasn’t all that impressed by Jamie’s efforts. But I do think Neggie was enjoying her view of the tree. Something tells me this is not last attempt Jamie will make to get herself a boot ornament off the tree. The fun is in the challenge!
Thanks, Jenna, for decorating the holiday tree for all to enjoy in their own way.

Clever Jamie!
Eli says
Perhaps it’s not the intended enrichment function, but the tree does provide an excellent puzzle for Jamie! Neggie seems to be taking the more standard route by enjoying just looking at it!
JAMIE says
ha ha ha. that Jamie is pretty good with her “fishing pole”. i admire her determination and ability to communicate with her staff.
