Friday Fun at CSNW

November 22, 2024 by Jenna

Despite the gloomy day with the occasional rain showers, the chimps have been playing, reading, grooming, and relaxing. The perfect day at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest.

If you haven’t watched the video yet, can you guess what activity we caught Burrito engaging in today?! It’s an activity that many of our other chimps enjoy, but something Burrito does not participate in unless we add peanut butter to it… any guesses? Check out the video above for the answer!

Gordo and Cy (window). Their group is currently doing a reintro so these two boys aren’t together, yet!

We also wanted to thank everyone who participated in our Comfort and Joy auction! Thank you for supporting us, year after year! We couldn’t do this without you! ❤️

Even while reading a book, Bubba cannot stay still, lol!

I figured it was that or making a nest! Those toes always a tappin’!

The Boss is not fond of your camera for some reason, Jenna! Thanks for giving her that space.

Oh, my, what happened to the snow, I wonder. It may be a gloomy rainy day outside but inside there’s fun and games galore. Interesting photos of Gordo and Cy maybe eager to get together, also was that a reflection of the out doors on the tiles by Gordo or a mural? Burrito never ceases to amaze me with his foot tapping bless him.It certainly didn’t stop him from enjoying his magazine or that friendly tussle with Foxie. All on all a great day!

Jenna, you really scored with this video, a really fun play session and Burrito reading, yay.

Friday Funday! I am pleased to see Jamie still expanding her mind. She’s gone from interior design magazines to books on color. She’s amazing. Foxie and Burrito are very funny and I noticed Bubs is picking up Foxie’s famous spin move. But….Burrito, relaxing with legs (one shaky!) up the wall (has he been observing and admiring Cy?) while reading his publication, was the highlight of the day. And the way he embraced his legs and held them close! He’s too magnificent! And just when I thought I couldn’t swoon over him anymore…..Burrito realizes his sweet private moment was being watched by the paparazzi! That sheepish look on his face was simply the best.

Thanks for this Funtime video. Happy Friday to all of you.

Thanks Jenna for this wonderful video. I loved seeing Bubba “relaxing”, despite the frenetic foot (I do the same), with a book, and his reaction on being spotted was priceless

Oh my goodness, Bubs and Foxie are just so silly! Wrestling and rolling around like kids. That laughter is just the BEST!
Jamie seemed very interested in her book! That yellow room particularly drew her attention! Perhaps some ideas for her next nest?
I’ve never seen Bubba read before! It appears that even he’s gotten the bonobo feaver! I love how his toes are just tapping away in the meanwhile.

When the chimps nod their heads, quickly, what does that mean? “Yes”? A way of saying “hello”?

It depends on the context! Head nods is typically a greeting. However, Foxie does it when she’s excited and Jamie does it when she wants us to do something, almost like a “yes”. So it just depends on what’s going on!
