A generous donor recently sent us quite a few new, very durable toys for the chimpanzees from our Wildlife Toybox wish list! We are so grateful and have been excited to see the chimps get to use these new items. One of these items is a giant green cube, which I hoped the chimps would enjoy being able to move around to sit on wherever they would like. Burrito is known to sit on top of his blue barrel to get the best view of the neighbors next door (especially when any drama is happening), so I hoped these could be another option for him and others to enjoy. Grace and I decided to wrap up not only the new toy we were giving to Burrito’s group, but also all of the other large toys already in their space. Burrito seemed to really enjoy this! Check out today’s video to see Burrito unwrap all the toys new and old, and enjoy sitting atop his new giant green cube. He made a lovely paper nest once he was done unwrapping everything, and in true Burrito fashion he remained ready to play despite having such a cozy nest! Thank you to the generous donor that gifted us and the chimpanzees all of these wonderful new toys, and to all of our donors who continue to make a difference in the lives of the chimpanzees and cattle who call CSNW home!
I thought for sure Bubba was going to drag either the cube or his barrel over to the window! I love the progressive photos of Jamie at the end, they really show the difference that sanctuary makes!
That man is a joy, just vibing in his own world!
I think I saw the realization that he could use the cube to watch neighbors cross his mind as soon as he climbed up on it!
I still have hopes of seeing someone in the rocker, even if Foxie won’t trust it to spin in it
Oh Bubba, such a joy to watch! Love how he delayed the unwrapping to get the maximum anticipation from each gift, then made a nest in the wrappings. Looks like he’s already worked out the best use for the cube, great for watching the neighbours.
Burrito is like a kid at Christmas! He can’t even wait to get the wrapping paper off before he starts playing with his toys! I love how he tries to bounce on everything! Seems that green cube will make a nice perch to snoop on the neighbors from.
And once the paper came off, Burrito said to himself…..”Sturdy and wider than my barrel… oh yes, this will do. A new spy platform!” Like Linda said, you could see the moment when he was sitting there on top of his new cube that he realized this would work perfectly for spying on the neighbors. How is it possible for one boy to be so incredibly joyful, goofy, and knucklehead all the time? Or maybe the real question is why isn’t everyone following his lead?
