In honor of Jen Wallace on behalf of Hector Burrito

May 12, 2024 by Katelyn

So many thanks to Shannon Hutchins who sponsored this second day of sanctuary for the chimpanzees and bovines in honor of Dr. Jen Wallace. Jen is a wonderful friend of the sanctuary and a valued member of our medical team who we’re so grateful for.

“I was blessed to spend 6,566 days with my baby, Hector Burrito who gently crossed the rainbow bridge on April 26th. Saying goodbye has been one of the hardest things I’ve had to do, but I couldn’t have done it without the caring kindness of the most wonderful Jennifer Wallace. She has been our vet for the past three years and her love for animals and work she does to help them is what I consider an angel on this Earth. I wanted to honor her, for helping me through this time.”

We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved Hector Burrito, Shannon. Thank you so much for choosing to honor Jen and Hector Burrito in such a loving and gracious way. It makes our hearts smile knowing of another “Burrito” in the world. We hope the one who calls the sanctuary home also brings a smile to your heart today.

And Jen, thank you so much for all you do for our other than human kin and the humans who love them, including us.

Burrito and Jody:

This is a lovely tribute, Shannon. I’m guessing Hector Burrito is smiling upon you for contributing to the sanctuary in his memory.

Thank you Dr. Jen for all you do.

Beautiful tribute … all of us who have lost a “Hector Burrito love” share in sending out honors to our beloved vets who make such impossibly difficult times a little easier to bear. Love the photos… all of them. Pused a long time on Burrito & Jody … so heartwarming.

Dr. Jen, thank you for all you do as well. I, too, love the pictures, especially Burrito and Jody.

Shannon, Thank you so very much for your kind words and for sponsoring a day of sanctuary! Hector was such a wonderful kitty. He was a little feisty when I first met him , but he softened with time knowing we (at the clinic) were there to help him and certainly respect his individuality. Even through his health struggles he suprised me in so many ways throughout the past few years. He had such a strong spirit from all the love he received from you!

I appreciate your generous support of CSNW! It is through generous and kind people such as yourself the chimpanzees and bovines receive such excellent care.

Such a lovely tribute and remembrance of the wonderful beings who have so deeply affected our lives! These kinds of heartwarming thoughts help to balance the pain of the losses and also serve as powerful reminders that they are never truly “gone” from us but remain with us in the pure essence of who they were and still are for us. Thank you, Shannon! 🙂
