Happy Anniversary to Mave, Willy B & Honey B!

August 18, 2023 by Sabrina

Today marks four years since Willy B, Mave and Honey B made their way to CSNW and a lot has happened since they arrived. The original plans for the three didn’t work out as everyone had hoped but after some time the Lucky 6 arrived and welcomed Willy B, Honey B and Mave into their family. While some are still finding their place within the group, which is completely normal, others have found their other half, like Mave did with Dora.

I wasn’t here for the introduction of two groups one of my favorite things about introductions with chimpanzees is watching them figure each other out and decide how to approach each other. I have been watching Rayne and Honey B’s relationship since I started and while some day’s it can be a little rough, they are quick to forgive and also have so many moments where I see them playing and grooming recently. One thing Honey B has picked up is Rayne’s keen fashion sense.

Honey B wearing a headband as a waistband:

They’ve not only made new friends but since their last anniversary the Bray has opened so they now have their very own outdoor habitat to explore at their leisure!

Willy B enjoyed an anniversary forage with his group

Honey B enjoying her lunch forage in the chute with the girls, she’s clearly a big fan of radicchio!

I couldn’t get them in the same frame but Mave and Dora enjoyed taking an after lunch snooze in the chute together

While Cy enjoyed some quiet contemplation in the greenhouse, because everyone needs a little alone time

Missy’s birthday is coming up soon, so don’t forget to check out her tomato themed wishlist items!

I read Radicchio is in the Daisy Family not the Cabbage Family! That’s unusual ……:grin:Gotta get me some….Sweet Dora…..Did you sing her a lullaby?:kissing_heart:

Cute Pictures ….the one of Honey B looks like she’s saying “What are you looking at?” and the one of Mave” Do I dare try it”?

Hard to believe it’s been four years already. Time flies when you are having fun in sanctuary!

Thanks for the mix of photos from todays celebration. Especially the one of Willy B by the tub, with a fistful of chow in one hand and carrots in the other. And the girls radicchio party looked like fun. And little Dora dozing off after the festivities…so sweet.

When it comes to fashion, Honey B was a super model long before she met Rayne. Be sure to search for the image of Honey B parading around in her tropical sarong!! That is still one of my all time favorite images. Leave it to Honey B!

    Happy Anniversary!

Oh I don’t know about that Sabrina! Honey B has been quite the fashionista since day one! although I will give you this… I haven’t seen it lately. I hope she’s starting up again because she dazzles in bright red scarves!!

What a wonderful day to celebrate friendshios. We will know Honey B’s fashion sense has made it into Vogue when we see a celebrity wearing a headband as a waistband to the Met Ball. Let’s all try that for HOOT.

Excellent idea! Very funny. Instead of “black tie required”, HOOT! should be “colorful headbands required”!

Perhaps Honey B has traded in scarves over her head for sheets over her head.

I’ve suggested a couple of times in the past that someone should go through all the past photos and put together a fashion show blog. But of course that would take up quite some time. (The Paris fashion week is September 25 to October 3, 2023.)
