Simple Moments

March 16, 2023 by Anna

I couldn’t quite come up with the right written thread to connect all of today’s photos together. I simply present, a few moments from this *almost spring day.

Jody on Young’s Hill this afternoon. Notice it almost looks like there’s some green grass peeking out already!

Mave grooming her BFF Dora:

Rayne lounging in the Riverview Greenhouse:

I never quite imagined just how enriching having a neighboring group of chimps could be for Burrito in particular. He spends a great deal of his free time watching and listening to the goings on in Cy’s group.  It comes as no surprise to me that he is vigorously tuned in on all things dramatic. I myself am a reality TV buff and there’s something so enticing about enthusiastically watching a spectacle that you don’t have to be involved in.

Burrito is always sure to grab prime seating on a barrel so he can see his neighbors in the chute, all he needs is a bowl of popcorn and he’d be set:

I keep thinking the same thing, Anna. though part of me wonders if he’s longing to hang out with those other “dudes”

Maybe tomorrow he can be O’Burrito for St. Patrick’s Day with or without the cabbage and surely no corned beef.

Oh Burrito that wild bunch of dudes would wear even you out real quick. One of them is always displaying and acting like tough guys when all they really want is bro-love and attention. Watch them from afar and enjoy the drama at a distance and maybe with some snacks for your enjoyment.

Anna, I see a thread to your post….the chimps just being themselves is the connection.

I totally crack up when I see Burrito on his barrel, peering out the far end of his window to get the best view of his neighbors. You can almost feel his excitement. What a goofball. If anyone in Cy’s group actually ventures out into the Bray this spring/summer I think Burrito will burst! He’ll get a much better view of gang. Oh the excitement of it all. Anticipation is making me wait…..

I’m with you, Kathleen, re everyone being outside soon & how it will be for the new group. I’m very excited to see how they respond to being able to walk on grass and roam around & climb on outdoor structures! We have a great spring ahead of us!
